Title: Favorite Song
Post by: Davis on April 22, 2004, 11:32:59 pm
This is where you post your favortie song. All my music is painfully stale, and if it\'s someone else\'s favorite song, it must be worth hearing.

Mine\'s Bohemian Rhapsody, by Queen. You?

OMG...is this the real life?...is this just fantasy?
nice thread Davis...this is so hard!

Id have to go with 2 songs....
Dion- Runaround Sue   because its weird how a song can make you happy when the text is quite sad.
And if you like to sing you can have all youre friends join in! :D   Some guys can do the \"hephep...damberebereberehep hep\" and one lead singer can do the \"OOO OoOooOOO\"....

*EHRUM* the other one goes to all french people out there...*EHRUM\" Its an old song by Charles Aznavour called \"Tu t\'laisse aller\". Its about a guy who gets drunk and tells his wife all things that hes been wanting to say to her...Its really funny and gooood!

Take that and rewind it back! RedMonks got the fists to make your booty go *SMACK*

*EHRUM*sorry...late...

Favorite song???! Jeepers! That?s the hardest question I have been asked in a long, long time.
Hmmm?
Bob Marley?s ?Redemption Song? is up there. Uh??Starry, Starry Night (Vincent)? from Don McLean? So many songs to choose from?Nope I can?t pick a favorite. Maybe if I did it by Genre.
Rock: Walk this way
Classic: Concerto in D
Alternative: Pearl Jam (anything they did)
Special: Petra ?the color song?
Country: ?Long Black Train?

That should do it. :)

Linkin Park isn\'t Christian...not at all. I know they said they are a Christian band, but that was just to gain publicity with the Christian audience. 8)  And their music isn\'t wanabe, its the real deal...awesome...

How are they wannabe lol Explain this to me because how are they wannabe\'s  when they made it, they are in the big time! People buy their music and have hundreds of thousands of fans problem even millions! They are internationally worshiped by their fans! Zip it because you don\'t know what you are talking about...

LP = Techno Rap/Rock for the most part it varies with their songs but for the most part thats what they are!

EDIT: Mon Mon Mon Monkey!! Mon Mon Mon Monkey!! Mon Mon Mon Monkey!!  I am the monkey! I can go anywhere lol some peoples minds are just amazing!

being a wannabe isnt always about being original (but when theyre second album released we all found out that they couldnt do anything more then that, and not even better) if you have seen a music video of LP and watched how they are all like \"about\" the music and really deep and that they have this purpose (AS SAID IN MTV BEHIND THE VIDEO).

Well, as for my favourite band, I\'ll say Nine Inch Nails, always. But Pitchshifter is a very close second, and Linkin Park an even closer third.

And as for songs:

Nine Inch Nails: The Great Below
Pitchshifter: Stop Talking (So Loud)
Linkin Park: My December

Maybey you could make fake music buy getting some store dummies and dressing them up as a band then putting them in fron of some instruments and turn some machinery on behind them..   to make noises

it \"could\" work..

Ok so are we talking about their real second album reanimation or the one most people think their second album is meteora? Either way you have no right to call them wannabes they are still on top, their music is still topping the charts! They still put emotion and purpose into their music and videos, and they managed to survive a era that went straight to the ground starting with Limp Bizkit!

i do understand it since i was a big LP fan when Hybrid theory came, but meteora is just bad and pretty much the same.

Quote

meteora.

reanimation was even worse good songs from hybrid became bad and was just a remixed techno freak cd.

i am using my rigth for free speach.
they were on the top for awhile because the fans though meteora would be as good as hybrid. they went pretty much down hill quite fast. all that feeling and emotions are pretty lame and well i \'l just say lame.
and you should think before you speak:

even though limp bizkit was a bad band in theyre debut album, they atleast manage to have a huge hit in theyre second (behind blue eyes) even though not completely written by them. while LP had a great start and they prove that a great start was all they had.
Title:
Post by: DepthBlade on April 24, 2004, 08:43:50 pm
Ok seriously what the hell are you smoking their second album was Reanimation ok(A remix album with I believe 2 new songs)! They released four videos with that album PTS.OF.ATHRTY (Did hit big!), Kyur4 Th Ich, Frgt/10, and Wth>You!

Their third album Meteora did not go downhill at all, thats just your opinion which counts for nothing considering its riding on false information! Some where I belong, Faint, and Numb all big hits, they have more fan base then ever if you take a look at the LP Underground and Linkin Park\'s own site! Just because they don\'t constantly release albums upon albums and they go on tour and meet their fans doesn\'t mean they are done an wannabes! Unlike pop bands and other big music stars Linkin Park creates their own Lyrics and their own beats! It takes time and they put their words and emotions into it, which have attracted tons of people to listen, so now I ask you how do you figure they went down hill with this? Seriously what were you a fan just because when Hybrid Theory came out everyone was listening to In the End ,Crawling, One Step Closer because they had a good beat? Do you listen to the words at all? Or do you just ride with the current trend on Muchmusic or MTV? I suppose this week your favorite band is Outkast because they have a creative video but next week who knows maybe you already changed it to Britney because her new video!! You are nothing more then a hater and trend follower nothing else, next time you come in here and try and talk it up! Know what the hell you are talking about!!!

EDIT: Oh Limp Bizkit only got attraction because the use of swears into their songs, I admit they had a few good tunes but now where are they? Even a member left the band because the whole swearing and acting like tough guys got lame!

Some people will agree with you, yes. And that means some will not. 2+2 logic here. You can\'t expect everyone to agree with you and you can\'t force them to see from your point of view.

Please don\'t turn this thread into a flamewar. If it does I\'ll just get rid of it and Davis can restart the thread later if he wishes.

and I will fan it even further by saying with absoulute certanty that the pen is not red OR blue..

it is GREEN

and in all seriousness no one expected everyone to agree did they I mean theres a lot of zeal in a music fan and a lot of people have a considerable amount of their self-image tied into what musi or bands they like, so then if someone says that their couice of music or bands is \"wrong\" then that can often be taken as a personal jab.
what we must remember however is that we should accept not what others like, but accept that they DO like them..

or it could be just me :)

You all make me feel ancient with all your recent music..., and I\'m only 24...

which song is difficult, but my favorite bands are the beach boys and CCR. I have all my favorite songs on my playlist right now.

If I had to choose, I\'d have to say that my favorite song was CCR\'s \"down on the corner\" next to \"wipe out by the beach boys.

the newest stuff on my favorites list is smashmouth \"walkin on the sun\" and Utada Hikaru with \"simple and pure\" from the game Kingdom hearts... now that\'s a game with a great soundtrack.

speaking of smashmouth, it\'s coming on now, I\'m out!

Picking favorites musics is incredibly hard, arg. But I managed to make a selection of the musics I like the most, and to keep it as small as possible.
Here we go :

=> DJ Rolando & The Aztec Mystic - Nights of the Jaguar
Electronic music ; you like it or not, I just love it. And no, techno isn\'t only about *BOOM BOOM*, as most people think because of all the commercial crap they play on radio. The *BOOM BOOM* is important of course, but it is just a background, not the thing you must focus on while listening. People tend to do the opposite ;). Anyway, I gave up explaining why I love it long ago, so I won\'t bother you with it. Aphex, forgive me.

=> Moby - Everloving
*deep sigh*. Soothing. I don\'t like much the sound of the guitar (yea, I know I\'m weird, don\'t flame me :P), but there is always an exception after all. This is one (no *BOOM BOOM*, I promise ;) ). \'Play\' is really an awesome album, \'18\' was such a disappointment, what happened to you, Moby ;( ? You shouldn\'t eat all that vegetables, they\'re full of pesticides.

=> Pat Metheny - The Heart Asks Pleasure First (The Piano Lesson soundtrack)
Piano, violin, that\'s all I need ;) (not knowing how to play the piano must be one of my greatest frustration in life  :( ). Sometimes you are sad, but it feels good anyway (melancholy). That one suits those moments perfectly.
\'Any Other Name\' by Thomas Newman, and \'Pas Si Simple\' by Yann Tiersen are also good substitutes. *Takes a handkerchief*

Ok, you want some music with lyrics :). I don\'t have much of those, but I particularly like this one  :
=> Bjork - Joga
Bjork is such a peculiar singer. I can\'t say that I\'m fond of her music, but there\'s a very interesting artistic research in what she does, I have much respect for her because of that. That is, of course, only my humble opinion.

If someone here recognize himself in some of those musics, I\'d love to know about his/her
favorites songs :).

I don\'t like the sound of the guitar either, simply because it\'s overused. For a while, the sound of the type of drumset that most rock songs use, I simply could not stand...

Davis: I think you quoted the wrong person in your first bit. :)

I like \'The Great Below\' because I feel Trent is singing the song with alot of passion and emotion, and I like the eery gentleness of the music in a track with such suicidal-ish lyrics.

Sep: You know I love Please Sir almost as much as you do! :D

Hm, I forgot one - \"Overjoyed\" by the Jars of Clay

I have to admit that I like most of their stuff, but especially their slightly gloomy second album.

After some work, I managed to get my hands on Please Sir, and I must say, it\'s really not that great, IMO. I guess Moogie just has a very different taste in music, as I have yet to agree with her on anything musical.

I picked up the \"3 days grace\" Cd, it\'s pretty good, so I listen to that mainly. \"Scared\" and \"Home\" are decent.
