Title: Informative npcs

Would be nice to have NPC data holders, as well as the aforementioned \'\'newbie helper\'\' npc.

I would like to see;

Guild Registar Holder; An npc with info on major guilds, one you could ask \'tell me about blitzers\' and so they will give you information upon them and their website

perhaps someone with info on players and stuff too.

Awesome idea.

Leaders of guilds will submit short (~1 paragraph excluding url to the website) descriptions of their guild. People that look for a guild will go to that npc, ask him a bit about the guild, and it\'ll make things alot easier for anyone that looks for a guild.

It\'ll also be alot better than the sites that list guilds, no offence. Maintaining such lists shouldn\'t be easy. Trying to extract information about guilds that still exist, guilds that broke, guilds that get formed...
When a guild breaks officially, the npc\'s database will be updated. When a guild is formed, the npc can /tell the leader to give him description.

even better, you have to go to this npc tellling him that you want to make a guild. Hmm.. this npc should have a office with many books and papers lying around.. :-)

could u link me to this? having checked every npc thread in wish list, (took a good long time too) i saw nothing with any reference to guild and player information that could be gathered from npcs and am curious to what ideas u have.

Yeah that would be cool. I had an idea similar to this but never posted it. We could have a Yliakum Archives Library with books on the history, ancient maps, major legends etc. but also a current Guild Book where it shows current guilds, maybe a escription of it, current members and the guild symbol. This book would be automatically updated when a guild gains/loses a member.

i like this idea a lot. That what icefalcon suggest would be possible, since you (if you are member of a guild) are already registered in a list, so it would be easy to transfer that list to viewable portions for players to see.

i like your idea icefalcon but you forgot a minor detail, how would a guild like the cabal or ex-sh be able to hold secret members if there is a book with the members of the guild. ;) think about it thew book willb e useless if you implement the hidden status in it, but if you don\'t, alot of guilds will be gone because they can\'t be secret anymore.

thnx for link, although actually it was just the afore mentioned tour guide thing which i actually commented on and nothing to do with having a guild registar or player details ingame.

it was old and my memory is bad by all the fancy drinks kada has served me  ;)
