That\'s it...Rant time.
WHAT THE ***K has this community turned into?? People going around hacking each other websites and forums in hopes of wiping out a guild? That is ****ING PATHETIC! This is supposed to be a ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY yet some of you shameless idiots are going and putting a whole new meaning into \"hack n\' slash\". What the HELL is wrong with you people??
So the ***k what if a leader of a guild insulted you and your guild. So the ***k what if you cant fight in-game yet. If you see that as a reason to HACK someones website or forums, I truly pity you and hope you grow the ***k up! I especially hate those of you who think that hacking in any way=roleplaying. NEWSFLASH: NO THE ***K IT DOESNT! It\'s lame and only shows that you LACK the RP skills to pull it off any other way.
Something else that pisses me off is that SOME DEVS (note: not ALL, some) Don\'t give a rat\'s ass if there people hacking each other. The devs and moderators openly admit that they think all this bull**** is good for the community. No it is NOT good for it! WAKE UP!!
I did not make this post just to rant or flame, but more so because I CARE about the community of PS. And I see what it has become. And it pisses me off.
I dont care if my post is deleted or I\'m banned or whatever, Ive made my statement and every last damn one of you know I\'m right whether or not you admit it.
I deleted the thread this was in because it had a lot of other pointless BS, but I really think Aelya is right about this.
Let\'s do an experiment: From now on, the mods will delete flames on guilds, war threats, hacking threats, pointless 3 day deadlines, whatever. Post about your guild, recruit all you want, discuss ways of RPing chaotic neutral or whatever--no war stuff. Do that on your own forums.

I whole-heartedly agree with this decision. The guild forums need to be more strictly moderated. This negativity is getting to a lot of people and it is starting to spiral out of control.
I mean the whole point behind the Fruit Wars was to have a little fun and get everyone together...sure it got weird but hey.
Anyway I look forward to seeing the new Guild Forums. :]
-
I definitely agree with you Venge. This seems like the best course of action for a forum which has gotten out of hand (I know how tough moderating can be). The issues brought up here deteriorate a lot of people\'s impression of their fellow Planeshifters, and nobody wants that.
I have an idea for all of the war stuff. Instead of posting, \"We are now at war with ____\" (and you can\'t do that anymore anyways), why don\'t you in your guildthreads post current conflicts (simple one-liners), and reasons for going to war with another guild? That way, even though war is declared on a case-by-case basis, people will more or less know how your guild will handle guild-relations and make their own decisions from there.
And Aelya, that was a brave thing to do, make that statement. I also agree with you, and hope that scenarios such as the most recent one will never have to be replayed on these forums.

I am glad this is being given a chance. I have not been here for over 2 years just to see the community crumbel under needless drama.
I know there are very few with the guts to put their foot down and give everyone a reality check. I figured I may as well would be the one to do it.
-
Well, thanks Venge, in the names of other people (I guess you can figure it out who ...) and in my name as well.
Anyway, you could have done this thing some time ago, also you could have prevented me not doing any stupid things I did for this :P But at least is done ... so if you excuse me, now I can go in the shadow reliefed :D

Annah, remember you were leaving?
See ya,
Vengeance

It is sad that it has come to this, but I am glad it did. If you want a war, post it on your site or declare it ingame.
-
*sighs*
The boards are going to be so boring now...

how rude, as an adminestrator you should make an example by being more of an role model.
and i do not believe sarcasm is that way.
He was just leaving BO.
he was also half leaving the community.
-
Whatever. I\'ll follow those rules. Couldn\'t care less really.
I think you should sticky a \'guild forum rules\' thread so newbies are given a warning. It\'s about time that there are actually some rules visible for anyone who comes here to see instead of having to be told by someone else.
-
It is not like n00bs pay attention to that stuff. If they did, there would be no need for GMs...
-
Hope it helps.
-
One more thing I\'d like to add...For those concerned about RP\'ing guild wars, there is STILL and always has been a place for that! *points to RP board* That is where ALOT of this crap should have been in the first place. But if your goinng to rp a guild war on the rp forums give it a nice title like \"(guild name) vs (guild name)\" you get the picture.
-
What if a war is discussed outside of the forum and is decided upon by both parties can it be announced in the forums but no more discussed?
-
Sounds fine to me...Although it\'s really up to venge. Ask him :P
-
It\'s really hard to determine when the fun become stupidity.... But i think people are right when they said some others have crossed the borderline. It\'s really sad things have come to this point.
DepthBlade: a roleplaying war is really far from a hacking war or a spamming war. I hope everyone is able to know if they are roleplaying a war or simply flamming.
About hacking, i don\'t know exactly what you are speaking about (who are the hackers), but i want to thanks Xordan for his security notify. I didn\'t care about possible exploits so i didn\'t update the forum because i _never_ thought people were enough stupid to hack a guild forum for enjoyement. Thanks to Xordan for having shown me how i was wrong about this community.

That is exactly what people were having trouble with. They were blurring and crossing the lines of IC and OOC. When that happens people misunderstand things (or not, thats what makes it confusing) and they flame each other. It is a never-ending cycle and something had to be done.

I know, I know this was discussed over and over..Time to stop with it, never wanted any part in it , from the first place just playing the defense. But really I think there should be a announcement thread where we can post current status in hydlaa war wise that is..Both sides agree and post the situation (leaders only)
-
Ok, how about this:
A sticky thread, much like the current one regarding recruitment, where each guild leader may post a single message on the thread with two (or more) sections concerning war status? Something like:
BLAHBLAH GUILD WAR STATUS
Currently At War With: guild1, guild2
Currently Allied With: guild3, guild4, guild5
Sound like a good idea? Of course it\'d be strictly moderated like the other one, so no war discussion will be held there. It may also be a good idea if posts contained a link to the guild\'s forums where people may go if they do want to start trouble.
Edit: Oh, and then you\'d just announce that \"our guild war status has changed\" in your normal guild thread, and then people will know to look at the Guild War Status thread to update themselves.
-
Yes, good idea. We\'ve already got a thread for advertisments, so we don\'t need to really post threads on that, and a current status thread will be good as well.
-
Guild ward aren\'t what caused the discussion (call it spam if you wish). Most of the huge threads were about individual members (Annah, Evanchild, me...)
IMO guild wars should be announced on the guild thread. A sticky thread is not needed.
-
Still it is a good idea :) Go through with it!
-
How about not bending the rules to your favor for once, and simply following the ones set by the board administrator? :)
For those who didn\'t read Vengeance\'s post, this is what he said:
\"Post about your guild, recruit all you want, discuss ways of RPing chaotic neutral or whatever--no war stuff. Do that on your own forums.\"
Edit: Just to point out what I meant; \"no war stuff.\" Well, in my eyes that counts those threads about who the guilds are at war with, and I think it\'s just fine if people have to go look at the respective guild\'s site/boards to see who they\'re in war with. It simply keeps all offensive thinking away from here. :)
-
erm, i just started a thread (the K\'s and Fruits one) to point out the pointlessness of the Fruit-salad war ...and later on, if it didn\'t get deleted, i wanted to say something about the guild-wars that i hear off
...well, seems like i opened an obsolete thread ...sorry :( ...please either ignore or delete it
*sneaks into his corner to sulk*
