Found out about this from a guy spamming the chat channel in a MMORPG I play.
Goto http://www.halasia.hotrpg.com.
I think you\'ll notice something familiar about the website, like the fact its graphics are RIPPED FROM PLANESHIFT\'S! If the layout is used with permission, then it\'s okay, but I have a decent suspicion that\'s this guy thought he\'d get away with it. I wasn\'t sure who to contact, so I\'ll post here instead.
Let\'s go slice his tires.

He\'s breaking copyrights, the graphics aren\'t free for use.
And his jokes aren\'t even funny.
I\'m downloading the client now...

The game is far from being a PS rip, that\'s for sure...
Try username \'guest\' pass \'guest\'.
It\'s only the site background that got ripped.
I\'m not saying this should be ignored, but it\'s not THAT bad.

A programmer from PS has already posted a complaint in their forum. So im curious to their response. Of course lots of banners pop up as well.

Its kinda pathetic, the only ones on the forum seem to be the guy himself and some people of PS. And each time you open a topic some banner pops up.
No i DONT want to buy a computer, would i be on the internet if i didnt have a pc?

It all seems very amateurish, has anyone actually tried the download? Surely someone who can\'t manage to organise a decent website has no hope of putting together any kind of game.
This will be the most publicity he\'s ever had :)

Indeed and probably doubled the number of users. But he is still looking for moderators, so mogura perhaps you want to have a go ;) There are a lot of applications however according to him so you might have to wait :P
He hasn\'t replied yet though, or he doesn\'t come on his forum that much or he think were spamming him trying to lure his community to PS.
And he is right, we are jealous of him :D

well, I was gonna log on and see who I could flame in game, but I can\'t connect.... ya know.... I have 2 meg service with charter and a decent comp now so I know it\'s not on my end

Now I can understand you all beeing angry, but please people let\'s try to keep calm. The guy made a mistake. He found this site he liked and copied it. Bad move. If he doesn\'t change it, legal action will be taken. Let the game developers deal with this one please. All of us screaming for retaliation won\'t help matters at all.
Most likely this guy will simply redo his website, problem solved. Stop harassing him, even though he might deserve it.

I agree, the guy will get the point by now so there is no reason to flame him on his own forum. Let him have the possibility to apologize before we flood his forum with any more critics.

Yes, I have. As I said in my first post here, it\'s far from being a PS rip. It kinda reminds me of Zelda, with pastelish colors more or less.
And the menus are annoying.

you know, it\'s true that he ripped those graphics off, but god I\'m ashamed of the peeps over there trying to represent this game. flaming and all that is one thing. but it does not help the situation when you go over there and curse him when he did nothing directly to harm you. he might be responsible for what happened, but he didn\'t come out and start cursing or threatening any of you... watch your language when visiting outside of planeshift, it looks bad on the mods here.

Yes agreed. Flame is not necessary, I don\'t see the big deal about this particular issue.
Maybe moderators needs to put an end to this topic?

(Just for the sake of people who haven\'t gone to read the posts to the Halasia forums)
Sledge (seemingly the creator/admin) testifies that he was approached by someone who claimed to have web skills, and was unaware of any impropriety. I\'m glad that it was found (and promptly stopped; Sledge pulled all the graphics from the site) but don\'t go to hard on the guy - but whoever DID \"claim to be a web developer\" and stole the PS site design needs to grow up and spend some time developing integrity.

Yes, I agree with the last few comments. I was thinking the same thing while reading the other forum. I wanted to post an apology there on behalf of our community, but I didn\'t want to look like a jackass.
GOOD HAS COME OF THIS:
For windows users who are getting those ActiveX \"Do you want to install and run...\" pop-ups from that forum (and elsewhere), below is a program that stops it. I probably would not have found this program if not for that forum, so...

Okay since he has promised to change the website there is no reason to harras him any further.
With all the reactions there i thought he might have cried himself to sleep in his bed :P. Hope this doesn\'t reflect to negative to PS.

Agreed, one people bringing it to his attention is enough, all other of the 2 pages are totally unnecesarry

Well, the Halasia website has been fixed. It now hurts my eyes (especially the forum). In addition, the game itself looks very low quality. The website asks for donations and has a link to buy Halasia merchandise. I assume there are lots of pop-ups as well, but I cannot be certain due to the countermeasures on my pc.
All in all, this project looks like a cheap attempt to generate revenue.
Not recommended. :tdown:
