Title: Build CVS, 0.2 or which?
Post by: lathspell on May 09, 2004, 06:15:28 pm
Hello

Due to my problem in the last post I have to build Planeshift myself.

Crystalspace 0.96-20030912-7 would be available from
Debian if I install it.
The HOWTO of the Forum uses special CVS tags in the checkout.

So which combination of CS and Planeshift is recommended?
The latest HEAD revision, the one from the HOWTO, the source download or a mix? Can I keep the Debian version of CS?

bye & thanks,

-christian-

I read somewhere you should always use the most recent version.

Ok, after downloading the \"planeshift-0.2.010FullSourceAndArt.tar.gz\" I realized that CS and cel is already included in this tarball and that they are used regardless of any system wide installed crystalsphere packet.

bye,

Building for the purposes of playing --> the tarball that you grabbed is necessary.  PS was released at a sort of awkward time w.r.t CS, and then some further bugfixes were made (hence the \"MB\" tag in the crystal CVS).

For current development, you\'d want most current PS, CS, and CEL, as they stay roughly in sync.
