On some systems, the initial loading can take 2 hours.  Just be patient, and let it run (don\'t do anything else, like chceking if the program is not responding, going back to windows while its running, etc.).

What are your computer specs btw?

I would suggest that you wait with trying PlaneShift until Crystal Blue is released. You clearly aren\'t patient enough to let it take the time it takes. :)

it isn\'t the loading times that\'re bothering him, grono, it\'s the fact that the game doesn\'t initialize...

I don\'t know how to solve your problem, bert, sorry :(

My only guess is to increase your virtual memory settings.  PS chews up a lot of memory, so it could be crashing when it runs out when trying to allocate all of it.  Other than that, your computer should run it fine.

the initializing world sequence can take an extreme amount of time, so you will need to be patient..

if you wait a long time when loading (like 6+ hours or so) and it still doesn\'t go on, try re?nstalling the game. It might be that something went wrong during install.
