Title: A Wordrobe/ Veriety of clothes to wear.
Post by: Gildor on May 11, 2004, 02:52:15 pm
I know it may sound pointless, and perhaps i\'m just a freak.

but i find the idea of having different outfits to wear quite exiting.

maybe a feature  where one can easily design and create their own customised gowns/clothes using some helpfull little planeshift skin maker proggy.

or else, ready made gowns at a price, i think the rarer the item the more special it becomes. what i mean is that if you have work hard and earn/save money to purhcase a nice gown then it makes it really special. and would be a symbol of wealth, establishment, ackompolishment, sucess, efficiency ect ect.

you could even have a merhcant system where they could trade or sell their gowns/clothes.

I read something about someone

SECOND WISH

an honoury system similar to ...well all the knights and dukes and bishops and pelicans and other tittles which are bestowed upon people.

if you contribute to the community, or are particularly skillfull in a certain area then there shoudl be honours and tittles awarded.

it gives everyone something else to work for,   and when it comes down to it, what everyone wants is some sort of respectful standing in the society. to be known, and acknowledged and feel important.

if you get my meaning :)

yes your right i havent really piut any thoght into who exactly would be encharge of the awarding, most likley many people.  *yawn* must away fro slumber.

those are two of my wishes.

Hey back when I used to playing runescape I used to visit the \"make over mage\" on a regular basis lol. Change clothes then go pk me some lamers. That was a very primitive styling feature so what you are suggesting sounds cool.

I was just about to suggest something similar... cloths should make your magical & or agility/speed up or down depending on what you ware obviously... That?s what happens in most games anyways... after we find out how to make cloths then we can start modeling robes ect... (should be lots of Fan Art for examples too...)

Clothes might be nice, but since we\'ll wear mostly armors and robes, it\'s kinda useless.

About the second idea - AFAIK, in the future we\'ll be able to become mayors of cities. Hopefully ministers too, and maybe even rulers of areas that include a few cities.

Not really, this isn\'t a hack-n-slash game, we will be roleplaying and doing our jobs. Animal Trainer, Smith, Merchant, why would you wear armor when doing that?

I\'d be happy to find some nice casual clothes in game. Wearing armor all the time is pointless. Imagine the entire town in their armors.. looks like they\'re going on war, or something.

Good point. How about we really won\'t be able to wear armor \\ magician robe \\ whatever while doing jobs? I think it\'ll be good.
I can imagine someone wearing a heavy armor while forging a weapon... Doesn\'t look right.

Yup, my point exactly ;) So yes, we should have a variety of cloths to wear...
Oh, just thought of a cool idea...department stores! Haha...youve got the Armory Department, the Mage Robe department, mens casual clothing, womens causal, extra small department (just for dwarves ;) ), Biggie Deparment for those Ynnwyns, tatoo parlors, hair styling...
...Ah, well actually never mind, I would rather have them all seperate, no department stores, too modern...

Instead of drooling over your character sheet, looking for any extra armor points you can scrape together, try seeing it from a RP point of view. Who do you think has the better chance of taming an animal? A tin can man or a forest looking guy?

Depends how hungry the animal is.

No, it depends on how stupid the trainer is.
If the animal is hungry, the trainer will throw a few steaks to it. The animal will eat it, and have a bit of trust toward the trainer.
The trainer will then start befriending with the animal.

Trying to befriend with someone without trusting him even a tiny bit can\'t work.

If you want a job were you can wear the heaviest armor and wield the heaviest two-handed sword, join the city guards or something.

Yes different alterable clothes should be possible, but i would be surprised if it wouldn\'t be in the game.

The honor system really sounds good, if you roleplay well enough and contribute to the community there should be a reward in the form of a title. Maybe the devs already planned this considering the government system but you should be even be rewarded a position in the community.
On the other hand when you roleplay an evil character well (without causing too much grief) and really have effect on the community there should be something likewise as well. Like a title of most wanted or something.

\"Good\" titles as in Duke or Baron doesn\'t necessarily mean you have to be good, you know? :)

I think having guild/order robes would be pretty cool, or at least brooches & jewelry to signify your membership in some organisation.

On the other hand, realistic clothing is not easy to simulate accurately, so some compromise would probably have to be made for performance.

Then the animal eats you after you give it an appetiser.

What I said was a joke, lighten up chief.

I noticed you said trainer. Just incase your talking about someone that trains an animal that has already been captured, I meant an animal that is in the wild.

I also have no intention on wearing the heaviest armour and wielding the heaviest two-handed sword. I will go for a for a 2 handed sword but one which is light and fast and I will wear minimal armour. Besides who are you to tell me what job I should take?
