In every MMORPG there\'s usually a sub-storyline that goes along with the main game world so the player can feel immersed in the revolution and change in the game.
So if you got an any sub-storyline ideas post them!
Here\'s my idea:
It has been centuries passed since Talad created a tremendous wave of heat
that melted the secular rock of the walls of the first level and molded this rock in the name of his chosen people.
As that time has passed the people of Yliakum have shown great faith in Talad through the miracles he performed and the happiness the land has showned.
The followers of Laanx have shown favor of Talad for the years of praying they have done, Laanx has not fulfilled even one will of a mortal soul. But lurking in the darkness through the centuries Laanx has become even more angered that Talad is recieving the blessings of the people even from his own followers.
With anger dwelling in Laanx, he has been secretly creating his own race of people with the use of forbidden magic not allowed to be used by any god. Angered by this Vod?l told Talad to stop Laanx from taking this action of treachery. Talad honorably accepted
Vod?l\'s will and Talad told his mortal missionaries through dreams that he needed help from rulers of cities and kings of lands to help him. With Talad\'s missionaries helping him, Talad now watches over his people in hopes that they\'ll succeed. That\'s my idea.
Quests (as you as a character can do to follow the storyline):
-Find out what these race of people are called.
-There would be a quest for finding where Laanx\'s people are.
-A quest to steal the magic formula in making this race of people.
-Talk to Laanx on your own to see if you can persuade him to change his mind.
Final Quest-If all quests of this storyline is done, then you\'ll be able to take part in the first epic battle for the freedom of Yliakum with other friends and/or guilds (as long as they have completed the quests also).
There would be two outcomes:
First if Laanx is stopped, the game\'s storyline will shift so that everyone will show even more faith and gratitude toward Talad sparking a new age of enlightenment creating compelling economic, political, and civil growth.
Second is that Laanx will win and the game\'s storyline will shift so that his people will hoarde Yliakum. Laanx\'s people will be everywhere roamining Yliakum, consuming its natural resources and will take power sparking the dawn into a new age of chaos where new resistance movements must be made to fight back and stop Laanx.

Any storylines you post here won\'t get used in the game! So only post example ones! :) As far as I know, developers hardly ever use things that everyone already knows about.

Heres a sub-quest storyline ;)
You find a odd looking tree bigger than most towers older then most trees, you feel the bark and you hear a moaning sound. (No it isn\'t your mother and father in the next room :P) The tree is making noises as if its in pain! So basicly you have to travel around the lands looking for things to PLEASURE the tree different waters from different places, religious decorations and what not and when the tree finally is PLEASURED! It sets a flame and slowly splits apart revealing a sword with imbued brown qualities! This could be made really hard if there is alot of lands and different bodies of water, plus the different decorations you can put on it!
I was bored sorry for even typing :]

Why not just put the tree on fire? Thats a lot faster. And you can roast your sausages while you watching the tree burn.

Decorations, you say...?
... Gather round ladies and gentlemen! Feast your eyes upon my beautiful selection of tree decorations. Carved from the finest Emeralds ever to spawn this side of the Azure Sun! Only twenty Tria each!! Now now, don\'t crowd around. :D Plenty for all!

LOL excellent :D No burning the tree that won\'t work the only way for it to open up is to be pleasured or healed/satisfied whatever you wanna call it!

Dude, how would you know they won\'t be used? Secondly, your not a dev, so you can\'t really speak for them. Lastly how would everyone know about this? I made it up.
Anyways, another storyline idea:
Many years have passed since Talad created a tremendous wave of heat that melted the secular rock of the walls of the first level and molded this rock in the name of his chosen people. Although Laanx has not spoken to Talad in so many years, he finally decided after years of meditation that he will talk to Talad again, in hopes of becoming happy and beautiful again as he once once. But a secret cult named the \"Spiritualists of the Damned,\" want to use this unsettling time as a time to seize power and take over.
Seeing this as a great oppurtunity, the cult releases
its hellish Pteosaur to destroy the Temples of Laanx and try to resummon an ancient god once before having been defeated by Vod?l. By resummoning this god, The Spiritualists of the Damned will have a god of their own giving them more power.
Quests (as you as a character can do to follow the storyline):
- Get more intelligence about the \"Spiritualist of the Damned.\"
-[When enough people finish that small quest]. People who have finished that quest will be allowed to fight against the hellish Pteosaur.
There would be two outcomes:
First if the people of Yliakum fail to kill the Pteosaur, all Temples of Laanxs will be utterly destroyed. Laanx will blame Talad for the events sending Yliakum into an age
known as \"The Age of Deceit.\" While The Spiritualists of the Damned and their God Rodin take control of Yliakum.
As we as the people of Yliakum must fight back.
Second, if the Pteosaur is killed and the Temples of Laanx are safe, the information about the Spiritualists of the Damned and Rodin will be sent out. Laanx and Talad will join forces temporarily and fight against the Spiritualists of the Damned and Rodin the god. These events will take place in Yliakum known as the Era of Transience.

I believe the whole point with quests in PlaneShift is to keep them secret and let people find out about them ingame, and not post them on the forum for everyone to see read, and see how to complete them. If you want your quests into the game, mail them to Talad (after CB is released, mind you. He\'s busy enough as it is), or Darkmoon who is in charge of the settings. If they\'re good, maybe they will get reworked and parts of it might actually make it into the game. But as T?ri said, posting them on the forums will get them absolutely nowhere.
