grats man, now, take about a year for yourself, then go to college. don\'t go straight in, or you\'ll kind of resent it. I\'ve known lots of trads and non trads. those who rush right off into college tend to feel that college is wasting their time, but someone who\'s been out of school for a while go back appreciating the education.

Yep, I must agree with tyger here.. I too know lots of people who\'ve resented the pressure it brings to you, being rushed into college without a small (or longer) period of \"sabbat\".

I also know people who said they would take a year off and lost the sense of studying. They havent returned to school yet. :(
I say do what you feel like doing! ;)

Taking a break of school might be relaxing and encourage you to come back to school, but it could do the exact opposite thing and make you realize that school is overrated and the teachers are stupid.

I\'m not encouraged to go back to school.

Congrats. I just recently graduated myself. Personally I am gonna try to jump right into a career rather than go to college. I don\'t need to get an uber paying job so I can brag to my friends. I agree with saint though, school is overrated.

the problem with \"jumping into a career\" is that you while you might not need an \"uber\" paying job right away, you won\'t be able to even find a \"decent\" paying job that you can keep, most of the jobs available to a high school graduate pay minimum wage, and they\'re mostly only part time work.  the jobs that do pay more than minimum wage are hard to keep, people are ALWAYS trying to get into them, and if you mess up once, you get fired.

dani had a LOT of job training at job corps, and the best job she\'s had only paid around 12k a year. that\'s hardly enough to live on any more.

dani got fired at that job because she was wearing a certain type of shoe to work, and they told her to get a new pair before going back to work. she didn\'t have a second pair, and we had spent our money on bills. she called in telling them that she had to wait till her check came in before she could buy a new pair. they told her, \"come in or don\'t come back\" but they also told her she had to have the new shoes...

really nowadays, if you want a mid level job, you have to have at least the four years training. back when my parents were young, you didn\'t have to have it, but as it becomes cheaper to go to school, it also becomes more crucial that you get your education. people with bachelors degrees are fighting over fast food jobs.

I think it\'s partly a matter of direction - it was \"right\" for me to jump right into university, and the same holds for other people.  If you have a decent job available to you, then by all means take it though.  Just don\'t get caught feeling like you\'re at a dead end - more school will give you at least a couple years before you reach that dead end (only with more debt...)

School is kinda overrated in terms of what you actually learn, but it\'s sometimes the difference between having your job application passed over or not.  Personally, I\'m the type of guy who likes school *anyway*, so it was no big deal for me.

There\'s also technical apprenticeships, travelling the world, the drug trade.. heck the possibilities are endless :)

Congratulations DepthBlade! :D

I certainly hope you have an aftergrad party.  The party after my grad ceremony is something I remember alot :D  (out on an acreage, tons of alcohol, most/all of the grad class, and people making fools of themselves... good times ;) )

I was pretty much the same way.  Going straight into University was a natural progression once I had decided what I was interested in.  There were \"some\" jobs that I could have started immediately out of high school, but I know that I would have tired of them quickly.

But like others have said, it depends on your personality.  One of my friends went into college right after, and basically wasted a year since he didn\'t have any direction.  Another friend started working right away (apparantly to save for his education) and right now doesn\'t seem like he intends to go back at all.

Well yesterday was truly one of the most frusturating days of my life, between pictures and things to do i\'d rather just taken the P.I.S.T.O.L! Anyways its all over now i got a ton of money from family and my dad bought me a Sony Cybershot 3.2 mega pixels with mpegmovies and a ton of other sweet options on this little camera. It is like a camera plus a video camera plus a bit of photoshop editor! Happy with that but what i am not happy about is that i cannot go to the grad party at all I have \"Mono\" yes the kissing disease and I will be back in the hospital in the next few days trying to find a new anti-biotic now that i find im allergic to penicilin!

ouch man, did you get it off a person or an object like a water fountain or something???

and allergic to pennicillin, that majorly sucks a$$, it means a very bumpy trip to being better. well, you can kiss a big part of your summer goodbye.
how bad a case do you have, it\'s often really tame, but more often, it\'s a real drag.

Why are you taking antibiotics if you have mono?  Secondary infection?  Mono is viral...  I had it once, but it cleared up in like 2 weeks and I was fine - I was worried at first that I\'d lose a whole semester.

Hope you roll a high saving throw against disease...
