Title: Lag why?
Post by: Unknown User on June 05, 2004, 12:11:15 am
First off i would like to say that it looks like you guys at PS have to together good. Nice game!

Second, i have a question on WHY I KEEP LAGGING! My computer is only 6 months old! I play City of Heroes, FFXI, and who the heck else knows what on it and they run just fine but Planeshift lags like all heck. Anyone else have this problem and anyone know how to fix it?

It isn\'t lag you\'re encountering, it\'s a low FPS. The reason behind it is that there are memory leaks, etc. Molecular Blue is not perfect. The only way to solve this is to wait for Crystal Blue, which will have a better way of handling stuff and therefore make everything look better. Don\'t hold your breath for it though...

There are a bunch of things you can try, like all the differnt settings in the setup.exe. I find that 1000x700 works better than the other listed sizes, and sometimes the other settings work better. Opengl mode, windowed is generaly best.

you could do what i did. i now have allmost no lag at all

1: go itno planeshift opengl mode\'s properties

2: change comapability mode to win nt 4.0

3: disable visual themes( no it will not mess up the way ps looks)

4: jump in game and have fun oh and if you see me say hi  (misledtx)
