Title: Poison Ivy

Ehh so I got into some poison ivy and I\'m really allergic.
So I wanted to know what are some good home remedies that I wont have to spend a fortune on?

I\'ve gone to the doctor and they gave me pills but I wont have insurance soon so I\'d like to know for future reference...

Oatmeal bath.... dries it out. Its gross as hell but it works

Never had poison ivy...though I have heard the oatmeal bath is supposed to be a remedy.
Though you will have to decide which to deal with.  Poison ivy or the possibility that someone may find out that you took a bath in oatmeal...

Well ususally I just take a needle and alcohol and pierce all of the blisters and wash with alcohol... I hurts like hell but it works almost immediatly.. But not this most recent time... I think the ivey\'s gotten smarter....

oh and I was\'nt asking for \"medical advice\" I was asking for home remedies...
They sometimes work better that prescriptions, lots of people would know them regaurdless of what their interests are and they, by their nature, are relitavly safe.
So no I dont think there is any harm in asking about it on these boards...

Poison ivy? Never heard of that flower, and of course i can\'t find a decent english dutch translation of it :(.

I only know poison ivy of that woman in batman, and now of course where here name comes from. She looked pretty sexy in the movie *sees people are looking weird at him*

i dont know any ways to cure it but whatever you do dont take hot showers , you dont want that stuff under your skin.

also didnt know anyone who had never heard of poison ivy.
