Title: Dancer Job?
Post by: Mizaria on July 17, 2004, 08:02:17 am
I appologize if this has been done before, but I didn\'t find it on the wishlist.  Anyways, I was wondering why musicians and artists are in the planned joblist, but not dancers.

Think about it... dancers could work at the bar or in the theater.  And as far as applicable fighting skill, they could learn various dances to raise their party\'s attack power and the like.  And while this starts pressing in on RO\'s area, but maybe dancers could work with musicians, like have similar skills that are more effective when used together, or they could mix and match songs and dances for an unexpected effect.

But oddly enough I don\'t care so much about the specifics.  I enjoyed having dancer characters on other games because they are beautiful, enthralling, and powerful in their own right.  So much so that often they rival any musician\'s skill to control his audience and other players just seem to flock around them.

In any case, even if you don\'t make a direct job out if it, it would be nice if a musician might be able to learn dance as well as song skills.

I suppose it might be a good idea for the HC Rpers but personaly i would like to see a khan in tights.. also the more professins we have the more options we have and i think that it is quite a good idea to have some more..

Although dancing in a bar/anywhere would become increasingly boring.. and i think that it shouldnt stretch as far as attack moves.. it should be left as a proffesion not a skill..

dancers being beautiful in PS will not happen you have a choice of characters from the avaliable races.. and if you havent noticed there not exactly super models.

Many thanks,
  Danny

I think that\'s a great idea Mizara! It would be great for role-playing.

Though I agree with Danny that it should be left as a profession, since I doubt they\'re ever hoping to do anything remotely similar to any FF game. Besides it\'d just be too silly.

Oh, and another thing there are no \"classes\" PS whatsoever.

The models aren\'t that bad looking minus the female elf character. The new models are bound to be better looking and I doubt most people could do better anyways. ;)

Geez, you should be greatful that there are no _really_ sh*tty looking specimen of any race like there are IRL. I think the average model in PS looks way better than the average human IRL... ;)

No its not original, many RPG games, especially FF games have Dancers.

But again I stress there are no classes in PS  so if anything it\'ll be a profession.

guys your taking it way way way out of context.. erotic dancers may be fun but not pratical... just get out more..

secound if dancing as a proff gives you fighting techniques then doesnt it give you an overall advantage over the other professions?  8o  i think that  it should stay as a proffesion and end there.. or if it were to give you a fighting move then i say there should be disadvantages as well.. i.e your char is made ugly.. or its defenses are weakend.. or you have to sacrafice some else of some sort..

Many thanks,
  Danny  :))

I\'d be more than glad to tweak my suggestion, but it\'s very hard when no one here seems to even know what will be available in the final version of Planeshift.

And what exactly is the profession angle anyway?  Does that mean that we will only learn these skills to make money or something? If that\'s the case, then what is the point of having them?

lol funny and Danny is right i dont think the game will be changed that much i think this section is for minor tweaks in the gameplay and not a whole new part to the game (im sure the devs already know what they want the game to be like)

Remind me again to ignore any posts from you guys. Half of you don\'t make sense, aren\'t really talking about anything, and aren\'t reading my posts which is obvious becaue you\'re still talking about jobs and being given fighting moves. If you knew anything at all about how the professions work in PS, you\'d know they were for crafting or the like, not giving you any battle skills, this isn\'t Diablo for goodness sake.

Pretty much kills the point of having a \"Wish List\" don\'t you think?  But anyway, I\'m done.  My idea won\'t work.  I get the point.  Thanks for atleast showing interest in it.

Fes and danny don\'t know what they are talking about. Look at the differences between AB and MB. When CB comes out, you\'ll be shocked at how much it has improved- and the game is going to keep on getting better. Right now there isn\'t very much interst in dancing, but that\'s because the devs are still working on more fundimental actions. Dancing is still in the future, just like most of the suggestions on this board.

?( all i had suggested was that it would get boring... i dont see how suggesting that it would get boring or give a major advantage classes me as knowing nothing?...

When a game is updated it usally means its better than the last?? and your forgetting the fact that the game and professions still have to be fair or otherwise the other professions wont be used.. and it would cause an un-balanced atmosphere..

The whole point of a Wish list is to post up ideas yourd like to see in the game it doesnt mean that if you post somethign up it will happen.. its quite the opposit.. management would obviously choose the ideas with the most possitive feedback.. if you post an idea say about nail varnish or something silly and it gets negative feedback there not going to add it to the game are they? so me and FESFES do know something.. and if you ask most members on this forum no one knows what will be in the updates for certain and only management and those who have be told by them know.. so in fact were all the ones that dont know much as only a few if any at all know everything that will be in the game...  X(

Many thanks,
   Danny

Double post *points to edit button* there ya go Danny, and Zabeal is right, cause Zabeal is cool, cause I said so :)

Anyways, as Zabeal said the wish list is full of suggestions that could only be implemented in later years, so don\'t worry about it.
