Title: Future Speed Improvements
Post by: jorrit on May 05, 2002, 05:56:43 am
Hi everyone.

I\'m the project manager of the Crystal Space project which is the 3D Engine used by PlaneShift. Some people comment that the world in PlaneShift is far from fast. I can tell you that this will change in the (near?) future as my work on a new visibility system in CS proceeds. If all goes well you will see at least a doubling of performance in wide open areas (which is where performance is worst now). Maybe it\'ll get even faster. Don\'t know yet :-)

Greetings,

Don\'t worry about those warnings. This is just CS complaining it cannot find some plugins. But PlaneShift doesn\'t need them.

Well I have no idea. Can you give me some info about your platform? Like which operating system, what 3D card, which drivers ... Also does it crash if you use safe mode too?

I had that problem with it being unalbe to find modules.  I just had to open planeshift\\data\\config\\sound.cfg in notepad and change Sound.WaveOut.Refresh = 20 to Sound.WaveOut.Refresh = 10

M8, That\'s all good, as long as you keep your promises.
By the way, good work with your engine  :D
It only needs some cleaning up, cuz there are some mistakes, but i think that everybody knows that already :D

And for me it will crash in half the time while receiving world!  WOW!  That will save me time not having to wait for it to crash!
