Title: P.S Emails

Can we have custom e-mails like for example:

DepthBlade@Planeshift.com

Not right away but eventually? Only for like Event prizes you get a custom e-mail? Or maybe you will just give them to us for free..for being loyal community members who spam/flame/chat on your forums :)

(Not under wishlist forum because its not so in-game :X)

well not even and actual email account, just a redirect would be easier, however its quite a hassel

we tried to give councilors emails, dint work out to well

Of course, there\'s no way devs can give us all customized emails...

@DepthBlade well actually it doesn\'t really fit in General Discussion either :P Discussions about PLANESHIFT, ROLEPLAYING, and more...

However it actually isn\'t related to PS because you want a customized email, although the name is Planeshift.

So the closest topic would be the Hydlaa Plaza.

I say all mods, devs, and GMs get custom PS email addies ;)

But seriously....think of how many people there are at PS...that\'s a lot of e-mail addies....it would have to be only on special events.

And even so....having a PS email addy doesn\'t seem like that big of a prize to me...

I would have to agree with Aendar there...

Theres no way they will have enough space to give it out to everyone. So, I agree it should be restricted to mods, devs, GMs.

Event prizes? Hmm, I don\'t know that it would be that big of a prize. Besides, who would you tell that your email address is @planeshift3d.com? (not planeshift.com). I would rather have some valuable in-game item for the prize.

I\'ve seen it work for a free game before it went P2P! It is used for contacting P.S friends and distinguishing between them and other online game friends!

EDIT: I just looked up the old site and it now is a porno site ^^

Why would you want an email @planeshift.it? Its easyer just to go to any free email provider

Of course we could register another planeshift-like domain, e.g planeshift.tk, then we could redirect few emails with that address. But dot tk allows only 5 redirects per domain...

I really don\'t see any benefit in this but I can see severe drawbacks. Like the additional administrative overhead. And the additional bandwidth and hardware requirements. Remember that the whole bandwidth and server hardware is donated and the work is done voluntarily!

I want all of these precious and limited resources to go towards the planeshift MMORPG and not to waste them on things like email that can be had anywhere else on the net anyway. If you want to make a statement about your PS gaming, put it into your normal email\'s signature and ppl. will just as easily (or even more easily as most clients display the mail address only when a name is absent) distinguish you, for what good it will do.

It would be somewhat funny, but definitely not worth the cost, at least not IMO.
