Title: Poll: What do you think they are going to call the next release?

Well, as far as I know we have had; ?Atomic Blue?, ?Melecular Blue?, & now ?Crystal Blue?.

I personally think that they are going to call it ?aZure Blue??

Other possibilities could be:
?Dark Blue?
?Geode Blue?
?Krans that are Blue?
Or the ever-popular ?Coming Soon Blue?

They could also go for something with Crystal in it like:
?Crystal Magic?
?Crystal Swift?
?Crystal Burst?
Or \"Crystal Meth\" (na)

What do you think? 8)

I have a feeling (read: memory of it being mentioned in the forum) it\'s going to be called \"SB\", so what could \"S\" stand for? Stone? Serious? Synaptic? Still ;) ?

Personally, I\'d vote for Slightly Blue or Somewhat Blue! :D

Another Edit: They IMO can\'t call anything AB anymore as this would clash with Atomic Blue, so no Azure Blue.

Edit: They could call it \"ZB\" for \"aZure Blue\" couldn\'t they?

Maybe even \"Sky Blue\" or, owing to the azure sun, \"Sun Blue\".

The release after... well, if \"S\" doesn\'t stand for \"Space\", it might be \"UB\", Universe Blue, because they are working their way up a complexity pyramid.

Molecules
Crystals
...

On another thread, I already guessed \"Organic Blue\". But maybe we\'re not \"going life\" just yet (or never will).

ZB they could name it, but I don\'t really think they\'d resort to such a dirty trick. Also, you just want your name on it, admit it! :)

OOooohh, SB is \"Seytra Blue\"! :D

As far as I know, AB, MB, and CB are all Pre-Alpha, and the next release is to be pre-alpha. I think they are simply calling it pre-alpha. I\'m not sure though.

I don\'t think they\'ll stop naming it, because every project / release nowadays has a codename. It\'s kind of a must-have. :)

Maybe it is ?Suppl?mentaire Bleu?? (French for ?Extra Blue?)
What about ?Grandis Blue? (Latin for ?Big Blue?) or ?Blue Lagoon??

Of course they have to keep BB open for ?Beta Blue? :D & then ?Final Blue?

Blue Cheese is my least favorite Fromage lol! :D

yes it is.

Venge used that name when pondering about next codename... it was just an idea, don\'t take it seriously...

And CB was supposed to be alpha/beta (depending on how much they\'ll manage to add)

I think with all the content I have seen coming out in CB it should move to Alpha since the world map is still going to be small compared to how big the devs want it (well thats what I have heard about the map at least)

Disco bug? You mean where every light changes to red, then green, then pink, etc.? I thought only I had that... I get it each time I log on, which is annoying, and then it goes completely black until an enitire day-night cycle... I don\'t feel unique anymore!! I would like Chaos Blue, where, due to some bug, everyone had GM and Admin powers and would go around Smiting people!

How about \"Gamma Blue\" after CB\'s release, then just go down the Greek Alphabet...but, \"Zeta Blue\" has to be reserved for the final test version.  Sounds good to me.

Actually, I would have thought it to be Mineral or Material Blue... but the \"M\"s already been covered.
\"Sapphire Blue\" make perfect sense to me, progressively get bigger and more complex (atoms>molecules>crystalline..etc) in both name and game =D. ..so does that mean the stage after that will be \"Diamond Blue\"? =P

Speaking of Sapphires, aren\'t sapphires, emeralds and rubies all essentially the same thing (save color)?.

As for the Greek Alphabet naming... Omega Blue would be the \"final\" test =P.

To answer Tzur...

Rubies are simply another name for red sapphires, but Diamonds and Emeralds are different.
I guess it\'s the molecular structure or something? I never payed much attention in Chemistry to be honest..
I was trying to think of the next level in the complexity scale, but came up at a dead end...
I am personally a fan of Somewhat Blue.

AFAIK, it\'s not just the structure but also the materials. Diamonds are made of carbon (they are simply highly compressed coal), whereas crystals are made of salts, the different minerals that make up the salts create basic properties like color, shape and hardness, while impurities usually change the basic color or create other effects like bands and such inside the crystal.

So for the complexity, we\'d need to find something that is made of crystals, like multicrystalline silicon or (!) the stalactite! Stalactite Blue? Or we would need to change to something not related to crystals but more complex, like organisms or something, or just organic blue. After that, it\'d be more macroscopic things, like planets and stuff like that, but one needs to be careful not to have it sound too much like classic SciFi. So maybe we\'d just move away from the complexity and towards something else.

This thread scares me... everyone is thinking WAY too hard about this. Certainly harder than the developers would; I can imagine them thinking up a bunch of cool-sounding words and picking one at random. Seriously... enough with the technical biochemistry analysi... :P

SB is Sapphire Blue, but it\'s no official codename. I know Venge worked to get it acknowledged at one point, and it probably will be the name that will be used, but as for now there really is no specific name. But feel free to call it SB, and maybe you can help Venge get it through as the official name. :)

PlaneShift, as any mmorpg doesn\'t have a \"last release\". MMORPGs are know specially for the fact that they are \"never-ending\". The developers just go and add more and more content... or fix actual content, but anyway, mmorpgs keep evolving... or at least they should XD

Keeping with SB I think logically speaking Silicon Blue would be a good name, not only does it sound right, but it also fits with the previous building pattern in the other names.

Atomic -> Molecular -> Crystal -> Silicon (made from the latter throughout see)

No, not really, I\'ve quit this some years ago. 8) It\'s just that I like the sound of \"Interplanar Blue\" better and \"Plain Blue\" is just funny IMO due to it being homophonic to \"plane\". :D

I also like it, but the problem is that this stuff is generally being percieved as something rather complex while in fact it\'s subatomic.
