Title: Fixed Camera Mode:
Post by: Zeraph on August 06, 2004, 05:35:31 pm
Whenever I go in the Tavern or Library I find it very difficult to maneuver if you are not in the fps-like First-Person Mode, if we had fixed camera views built into the level, @ least the ones inside were there is not much room & objects are always getting in the way of the camera, then we could navigate a lot better? It would also be nice to see the author of the level?s point of view, the best angles & such, if you changed to a different sector then the camera would change to another view, or we could have it like an Open-Dollhouse-like view like this:

It wouldn?t be a set thing, you could put in the options ?[X] Use Fixed camera mode when available? & you don?t have to make a fixed mode for all the levels, like it would be a pain if you had to put one everywhere in the expansive fields etc?

Personally I really love the manual camera mode. But as long as a fixed camera stays an option and I stay free not to choose it: sure why not.

Ya a fixed camera would really work in houses and stuff where its small but I think the devs already have a solution to the problem because that problem is on their main glitches list on the site

arf, I wouldn\'t want to see that in a mmorpg.. that\'s too Resident Evil\'ish! /me shudders

fixed camera angles have, imo, always been one of the bad things about many console games (and pc games for that matter).. It diminishes the gaming experience.. And although there are certain pro\'s to this technique, I still feel they are heavily outweighed by the con\'s
