Recently there seems to be a big rush of new guilds entering the fray. It?s often extremely hard to tell which of the new guilds will stand the test of time and which will fall by the wayside after a few weeks, and so it?s hard to know which guilds to add to my guild list and award a permanent place there. So I?m going to let you decide! Please vote in the poll on this page (http://www.cad.energiserve.com/tavern/index.php) , and the winners will secure their place on the guild list in the tavern (you must be registered there to vote).
Please note I have only included those guilds which at least have a website. If I?ve missed your guild from the running, please let me know.
On a totally unrelated note, now that Ghostslayer is no longer an Assassin is the guild no more? Any info that anybody has would be appreciated.

I\'ve posted here and there a couple of times, isn\'t that enough? I\'m not really such a fan of those threads which have the sole purpose of announcing that some random person has come back after being away for a few weeks, and I\'m sure you\'re not either ;)

A bit before I left, I had created a new forum for the guild, there is only 3 posts there (not made by myself) and it hasn\'t had any new posts in 2 months.... so if its not dead, its definately inactive.
Although if there has been any activity by Assassins in game I\'m not sure... I haven\'t had the time to log in for a while now.

If you think the new guilds are crappy, unimaginative, unplanned, stupid, idiotic, or anything else negative, all of the above, some of the above, then don\'t vote.

Like I said elsewhere:
You guys will just have to make your choice, or not vote at all. The new guilds of today could be our ruling guilds of tomorrow, you never know ;)
Incensio Tenebrae was added to the list back in May.

Heyy welcome back Kada!
I have a question, what stops someone from voting for their own guild over and over again? I know that I clicked the back button to be able to vote for 2 guilds, but other people might misuse that.
By the way Kada, you move the guilds into the Planeshift guilds of old when they are over a year old?

I don\'t think it is possible to vote multiple times any more - only your first vote will register - let me know if you find things otherwise.
I tend to move guilds up a rank, once the number of guilds entering the list below pushes them up, rather than a set time limit.

UGH I reccomended The Coterie of Dernier Cri to be added and now they\'re beating the Militia :(
Well I\'ve gotta say that the results seem to be fair.
The Knights Templar and The Coterie of Dernier Cri are led by people who have been playing longer than me and have a stronger foundation though I think the Militia would be third on that list. I hope my guild makes it up there anyways.... :(
EDIT and shouldnt the Cabal be on the guilds of old list?

No... the Black Order is the oldest guild still alive and kicking. Cabal was founded by Auron later.

Imo Most the new guilds are crappy, unimaginative, unplanned, stupid, idiotic, or anything else negative. The only nice ones are the ones kuiper thinks of.

I think it\'s weird that Chaotic Warriors is considered a new guild. John Thazer created a thread for the guild the 25th of April. The Order of the Black Rose (the last guild added to Kada\'s list) was added the 25th of May.
Now I don\'t really know if the guild is active, but if it is I really think it should be on the list. And if it\'s not you might as well remove it from the poll :/

Chaotic Warriors made it to the vote, because they have been around a while and seem to be quite a stable, established group. It was a borderline case due to there not being a full website as such yet. In the past, if I\'ve added guilds without sites to the list they have tended to vanish before the site is even up - wasting my time and everybody else\'s. I don\'t believe this is the case for CW, but that is the reason it has taken longer to consider them for the list, unlike Order of the Black Rose who announced the guild with a full website in place and counting a number of long term and established community members amongst them. It\'s nothing personal, I just have to draw the line somewhere and have some criteria to judge by.

In comparison to some of the guilds out there in this community the Cabal is not that old. As the new guilds come and if older guilds die out the Cabal will rise up the list in time.
The dates listed are when I added them to the list rather than the actual creation date of the guild.

We\'ll have to see snow, probably not - you\'re trying too hard now :P I\'m sure there will be many more incompetents to challenge you when we have CB ;)

We\'ve been around longer than the Cabal, and last time I checked, the Rangers Guild was not listed as a \"Guild of Old\".
(Speaking of checking, I couldn\'t right now because thebbb is down... :()

I don\'t think Sep was that harsh. It\'s his opinion if he doesn\'t think any of the selected guilds are good enough to belong to the guild list, so I think we should be able to vote for that ^^.
Voting for no one (blank vote) is different from not voting.

The site is up, but who knows for how long :(
Knights Templar lead with 7 votes, followed by the Coterie in second place with 6 votes. 3 guilds tie for third place with 3 votes each (Champions of Yliakum, Metal Militia, and Rangers of the Expedition).
You make a good point Sangwa, but my opinion is that some of the new guilds are good enough to appear on the list - and I will be adding some, so any votes registered for \'none of the above\' are a wasted vote to me. That said if there is a big call for such an option I will gladly add it.
You can have your funky rollover for the Cabal Xordan, just send me the text you\'d like to appear (it is only in development, but any guild who would like to make use of this feature are welcome to send me their guild summary too).

Bwahaha you guilds and your need to be voted on. You see what I would have done ;) is waited til I had a firm base then I would have publicized my guild. And that firm base will be done with my new site :D

sure. cos none of us have sites to publicise, none of us have friends to vote for us.
the poll doesn\'t seem to take any votes for anyone other then knights templar, no offence kada but it seems rigged :S
i\'ve had a couple people try to vote for tCoY but its remained 3, whereas KT has jumped another 2 votes

:P The site isn\'t temperamental... well apart from it\'s current host ;) If you\'d read the news item on the site or the first post in this thread you would see that you must be registered to vote, otherwise as Waylander rightly pointed out, you could just vote as many times as you felt like.
Anyway it\'s only a bit of fun ;) No need for accusations of rigged voting and the like, I can assure you that is not the case. If a guild remains active and maintains it\'s website then it will be added to list in time anyway. All this poll will do is show me which guilds, according to the opinion of this community, should get there first. That way I figured it was fairer on all the newcomers, rather than it being my personal opinion.
As for the number of guilds that will be added in the first instance, that depends on the outcome of the poll. It will definately be at least two though, possibly more.

Then it will show that the guild is active and functioning well and deserves to be on the list anyway. The ones that have fewer members but are also seen to be active, well organised and stable should attract votes from other members of the community and so will also get well represented.

Cadoras - if I get more requests for \'none of the above\' I will add it, but I\'d rather people actually voted for someone, as I will be adding to the list regardless of how many vote for \'none of the above\'. Some have worked hard to get this far
So it does not matter too much if you came in second

I believe not but, it is always better to come in first. My guess is that the guild that comes in first will be put over the one that comes in second and so on until Kada decides to add no more.

As you may, or may not know (or care), the tavern has been back up for a little while now and voting has continued. Thanks to all who voted and congratulations to the Champions of Yliakum who topped the poll!
Congrats also to the runners up - the Knights Templar and the Coterie. All three have been added to the list.
As new guilds appear I may repeat this process, so those unsuccessful this time will have another shot. Any guild that received no votes will not be included on the next poll, unless there is renewed activity from them in the mean time.
