Yeah, everything seems to be running in DOS...it shouldn\'t be?

I searched found one other file called psclient setup, it was a .def file (whatever that means) but it won\'t let me change compatibility either. I don\'t even know what sort of program I would run it with.

I went to properties like you said, but there isn\'t any drop down box. I got a big box full of options, but compatibility wasn\'t one of them. The tabs were General, Options, Font, Layout, Colors, and Security.  General doesn\'t allow me to do anything but change the name, archive and index attributes, and compress and encrypt. Options only includes cursor size, edit options(insert and quickedit mode), display options, and command history. I can\'t find anything about compatibility. Am I looking in the wrong place?

As the subject says...I want to change the compatibility from Win95 to 98/XP in order to get past the linkdead error (hopefully). However, I can\'t quite seem to figure out how to change the compatibility...can someone help me please?

Can someone help me? I want to change the compatibility from 95 to 98, but I can\'t figure out how. I\'ve tried doing it through Windows Explorer and the psclient setup, but there doesn\'t seem to be an option for it. Please help, I don\'t want to get linkdead again.

Okay, thanks! Let me go try that...

I opened the Planeshift client setup, and the only options its giving me are:

Screen Resolution
Full Screen Mode
Renderer
Screen Depth
Sound Options

I\'ve read the linkdead thread, and I know that changing the compatibility has helped other people. I just can\'t figure out how to change the compatibility myself.

The program shuts down automatically when the character fails to upload. And I keep using different names for the most part. But I\'ll try again now.

Yay! It worked! But now I\'m linkdead.

Um...question? How do you change the compatibility from Win95 to Win98?

Look at them, specifically at how many KB they are. The first 4 should all be a little less than 20,000 KB. If they aren\'t, you need to download them again. If you have windows, just look at the files in windows explorer.

But I\'ve done it at least ten times and it\'s only gone through once. *sighs* I\'ll keep trying though...maybe sometime I\'ll get lucky.

Everytime I try to upload a character, it tells me I am already logged on to the server. Can someone please help me? Does anyone know why this is happening, or how to fix it? I have not successfully connected to the server once; how can I be logged on?

Thank you, but I know that it\'s not...I only got the linkdead error once. For some reason I\'m not able to connect to the server. Port 13331 isn\'t responding. Is that the right port? The server is planeshift.fragnetics.com, right? I had my father look at it (he\'s much better at this stuff than me) and he did something at DNS stuff and found that something is going on with that server...at least that\'s what it told him.

Um...anyone? Or at least tell me how to disconnect from the server if I am somehow connected? I\'d give my computer specs, but I sorta don\'t know what they are *embarrassed look*...I\'m running Windows 2000.

This really should be in the Molecular Blue bugs forum, but the board won\'t let me post there.

Everytime I try to upload a character, it tells me I am already connected to the server. The only time it partially worked was when I changed the server name to the server number. Then it got far enough to tell me I was linkdead.

Avengiera went through, then I got the linkdead message. I\'m going to try again on another system and hope it works.
