That seemed to mention that first names would still need to be unique.  I definitely think they should both have leeway.  I've been trying to make a character for about a half an hour and still every name I try is taken.  In real life for example there are lots of people with the same first name or the same last name.  It's the combination of the two that sets people apart.

Yes, this is all very nice.. BUT imagine having to type two whacky RP names every time you want to send a PM.. that wouldn't be very nice now would it?  ;)

If i could give you advice with regard to textues, adding some more contrast never usually harms anyone :) It helps bring the texture out of the... texture.

And some advice with regard to polycount and sizing, now and then you should zoom out to the distance of a players camera and ask yourself some questions. Is this detailed enough? is this too detailed? This should give you an idea of the kind of detail you should be working with.

But remember, you will first need to sign the ABC license and fax it away...

You will also need to make sure you're not wasting your time by following one of the many contribution guides avaliable on these forums and do things like: keep poly count low, make sure geometry is clean etc etc..

Neko has a point though, game models arn't particularly complicated and a lot of the detail lies in the texture.. so worry not.

Update: I took Niko's advice and put more detail on her hand, will do the other hand just now :) Also I fixed her head a little. Comments!

Its pretty standard practice to mirror the character so that both sides are equal. (unless you've already done that) That should save you some time :)
