Forum and Website Discussions / Re: Xordan Wiki is in danger
« on: May 30, 2009, 12:45:17 pm »
I ran into some issues while attempting to update the mediawiki software for pswiki.xordan.com. I hope to have these resolved by tomorrow.
Backups of the DB and files are kept, so our butt should be covered if all fails.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: (OSX)ATI Radeon X-1600
« on: May 30, 2009, 11:48:00 am »
Please try downloading and running http://www.planeshift.caarrie.org/Fix%20PS.zip and applying the fix for the ATi x1600 and Texture Compression.

(We also have a whole Mac section that would be good to take a look at)

The forums are assumed to be IC now? ;op

Welcome back to PS. Some people are probably still around who were here back then, but not a lot. A lesson all those who hadn't already tried it should learn: WoW is too addictive and is best avoided ;o)

Someone knew his email, entered it in the password recovery box thinking that the password would be displayed on the website, -obviously- it wasn't. The mail was sent to his email address so only he saw it. The system works.

Complaint Department / Re: Character Name

If you bring into it all the Dev and GM commands that function on a first name basis also, having shared first names names would be difficult

Where are you getting the PlaneShift source from? Is it Trunk or Stable?

Did you also download and compile the CS1.4(32140) source? Have you set your CRYSTAL environment variable to your CS directory?

In-Game Roleplay Events / Re: Tournament of Shadows
« on: May 03, 2009, 07:46:17 am »
Unfortunately by pure chance this event happened at the same time as the OSP event, I am sure these two events are likely to attract different types of player, and I would like to say that I am personally grateful for the fact that it has shown that PlaneShift can support multiple playing styles at the same time. I do not think that many more attended the GM event than your own event, so that should give you some satisfaction.

As Jaycol says, the aim is to entertain people, that is what this game is all about, and I am glad to see that you guys have taken the time to try and inject a bit more fun into PlaneShift.

The Wandering Djinn: Do you have Load All Maps or Keep Maps Loaded enabled in PSsetup? If so please disable both options.

Linux Specific Issues / Re: No sound (Debian Lenny)

Please look for psclient.cfg in your PlaneShift main directory and find the line
Code: [Select]
System.Plugins.iSndSysRenderer = crystalspace.sndsys.renderer.openal
replace openal at the end with the word software

Just a shot in the dark (normally doesn't affect this OS) but please try moving the Texture Downsample slider.

Who knows of Chicken Licken? It seems we have only two points of view being shown here. One has the Chicken Licken slant, where people are suggesting the sky is falling down, while the others are saying that nothing much will happen, and it is the media who are the Chicken Licken's in this story.

I sincerely hope it is the latter that turns out to be true. But, I would much rather Governments and People prepared for the worst and it didn't happen, than not prepare and have it happen.
