That\'s usually called \"gamma correction\" (making dark parts brighter, without overbrighting already bright parts). Would mostly help in the woods and the sewers a bit.

Since you played with the weather today (making it raining, foggy, and even red inside the tavern), I cannot enter the tavern anymore! Everytime I try to enter, PlaneShift crashes.

Furthermore, while raining, my framerate goes down to 2..5 fps. I hope I can switch off at least the raindrops in a next release (fog won\'t hurt that much, from my experience).

About \"respect towards skill maxer\":

If someone wants to challenge me into a duel without talking to me first, I retreat. If he tries that more often, I will set him on my ignore list.

I only duelled with friends I know, so far. And only at places from where I wanted to return to my spawn place anyway...

About \"Light armor\":

Buy some leather outfit - e.g. here:

- Boralis Voladrand (Hydlaa, uptown, above the gate to the woods) has 5 kinds;
- Toda Ombretis (Ojaveda, market, right side) has 2 kinds.

These leather pieces, when worn, will help raising the chance of blocking an attack.
__

Furthermore:

There are 6 glyphs available, and trainers for at least the 4 ways I know from the begining; why shall other ways not work?

I\'m playing for just the 3rd or 4th day now, not much; but I discovered the potential I have to expect. I found half a dozen buddies, at least. I joined a guild. It took time, of course. It took lots of questions and answers. And it will take much time in the future - but I\'m glad I may spend this time with nice friends.  :]

Yes, others tell the same. Yesterday I read \"5 times in a row!\".

After thinking a while, I also wonder: May my internet provider constantly send me different IP addresses?! -- But my DSL modem does not report such behaviour.

If the server restarts are unexpected, bug hunting goes first; if they are on purpose, a warning had been nice.

\"Keep maps loaded\" on a system with only 256 MB RAM? I don\'t know... doesn\'t this require much much memory? -- I can try, sure...

As long as resurrection is for free, probably. I wonder what it may cost later, in a more stable state... several PP, probably.

My most expensive costs on dying are the long time taking map changes. But that\'s \"my fault\", playing below the recommended minimum specs (Duron-800, 256 MB PC100 RAM, GeForce 2 GTS with 32 MB VMem). Unfortunately, I can\'t efford more (except maybe someone has used PC100 SIMMs somewhere...).

BTW: It seems that each map change takes longer and longer - as if there are memory leaks, or cache overcrowding. But that would be a topic for a developer tech discussion.

Indeed...

Unfortunately, it is not very easy to start. It is not simple to find out, what to do, where to earn goods to sell without too much risk of health, which skills to train first, and so on...

Fortunately, you\'ll find several nice buddies in the game, who will take you to interresting places if they have time, who may help you fighting in a group, ... well, I even received some gifts here and there (many thanks to those nice \"sponsors\"!). At least, there are helpful advisors in the help channel.

But be aware: The nicer you behave, the happier they will help you.  ;)

8o :))

Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_ARB_texture_rectangle = false
Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_NV_texture_rectangle = false

into data\\config\\r3opencl.cfg -- solved the problem

:tup: Many thanks - now I can try to have a nice sight-seeing tour...

Unfortunately, for me it did not help. ;(

Any ideas from the developers? Shall I look for specific image files, if they exist and are readable? May you provide a debug build I can use to check for problems? May you introduce an option to enable \"Clear\" or \"Finish\" functions?

Went back to version 6.13.10.4109 - same problem here. In my opinion, the tools were not able to apply the background texture, so the background plane went transparent, and this created \"halls of mirrors\".

Dear PlaneShift developers,

unfortunately, I have strange problems using your applications. It appears that every output on the windows is added over each previous output, so the user interface becomes unreadable.
    [*]Updater
    [*]Setup
    [*]Game
My experience in programming 3D APIs is limited, but from my experience, there can be two possible reasons:
      [*]You do not use the command to clear the rendering context before any output loop (for OpenGL, I would refer to \"glClear\").
      [*]The tools (or the graphic drivers?) fail to use a texture which should have been displayed as background first, before the UI is displayed on top of it.
My hardware: AMD Duron 800, ELSA Gladiac GeForce2 GTS with 32 MB, nVidia drivers 6.14.10.6176 (newer drivers are not necessary for such an outdated GPU, and ELSA does not exist anymore to provide more current versions)

      I remember a few similar problems with transparent walls in the DOOM source port \"DoomsDay / jDoom\". I\'ll try to downgrade my graphic drivers to older versions and check if this helps.
