Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Open GL Gets Split, Rearraged And Freezes

OS: \'98 SE
Processor: P2 400MHZ
RAM: 96MB
Video Card: 3DFX Voodoo 3 2000
Video Card Memory: 16
PS Client Version: 004
OpenGL or Safe Mode: Both but prob is /w GL
Description of the bug:
Safe Mode works, but It\'s way too slow. When I try to run the game in OpenGL mode, the splash screen gets split in three, with the far right and left 3rds reversed and the middle black. The game then loads to the normal selection screen for Create, Quit and Connect, but my mouse doesn\'t work and the only thing I can do with the keyboard is press Ctrl-q to exit. The Safe Mode didn\'t work at first until I quit my anti-virus software.
