Aye true, Black wasn\'t the best choice for the base material, it would  have looked better on the white fenki fur. Even the slightest RGB shift to lighten the material looked v.odd (a really muted flat grey) As to the sharpen filter on the 2nd image, I only had a crummy 3rd hand .jpg of the image remaining [Courtesy of Veromen] so wanted to increase the details that a few decent .bmp external screengrabs would have picked up on. As I\'m sure you know the MB fenki model had a vile way of twisting and distorting huge areas of the skin making any deviation from the offical skins clothed areas (with any form of detail) impossible eg. The thighs, shoulders & lower back.  Not sure how the new CB models handle it but maybe the seperate limb .png\'s have made it a little more custom skin friendly ;) I\'ll have a bash at a Snow Leopard with a more PS themed tribal dress sense some time.

What am I saying! I hate Leopard print :D

I managed to track down a final version .PNG (Thanks Pogo) Click on the Thumbnail for a larger version (364KB).

General Discussion / Lost items [Ring of the past]
« on: February 02, 2005, 12:03:32 pm »
I found a \'Ring of the past\' lying around on my travels that must belong to an MB migrated character that\'s accidentally dropped it. I did a /shout at the time to try and ascertain who it belongs to, but got no reply. So I thought I\'d post here to see if I can return it to it\'s rightful owner. So if it\'s your ring and would like it returned please send me a private message stating EXACTLY where you dropped it.

PS. The ring\'s are now worth 1600 Tria to sell.

This is just a little something I was working on during the MB days that kind of got misplaced during a system format. Never did get it finished though... This was a test screenshot I took hence the grids on the shoulders and wrists. At this point it was a totally (almost) redone skin from the base one including fur, the only thing I had left to work on was the head/face.

Oh well maybe if I\'m feeling Masochistic I\'ll re-do it from scratch for CB.

Wish list / Platinum does exist...
« on: January 01, 2005, 09:04:20 am »
Platinum does exist! (thanks Zet) and the smithy buy\'s em\' for 12 Tria apiece :D

So that makes mining conserably more profitable than rat killing! So if your after Tria for training & have loads of PP\'s then leave the poor lil\' rats to the lvl 1 weapon folks.

Don\'t want to give out the location but if you \"/dig platinum\" in the three mining locations your sure to come across it soon enough :P

PvP,PK and Thieving / pickpocketing!
« on: January 01, 2005, 03:15:21 am »
Heh if pickpocking is implimented how unrealistic would it be to have boundries to using the skill? ...as to annoying players , losing items is annoying but heh you don\'t play an Evil character to help old ladies across the road and open a soup kitchen :). People shouting that their items have been stolen; the system message would say \"You\'ve been pickpocket & lost $item #\" so there would be no confusion as to where the item had gone. And even if they did find something had dissapeared a few /shout\'s about a pickpocket in the crowd would be cool! :D

PvP,PK and Thieving / Good Vs Evil
« on: December 31, 2004, 08:32:42 pm »
Heh merchants/miners still get robbed! plus they don\'t have to fight they can just give up their wares! XD

This brings into play having bodyguards, law & order guilds etc. all good stuff ;)

But yeah there\'s all kinds of balancing issues to take into account... and opertunities to abuse such a system. Guess when the new set of GM\'s are in effect such implimentations could be policed.

PvP,PK and Thieving / Thieving skills & criminal activites!
« on: December 31, 2004, 07:02:26 pm »
Hummm at the moment there\'s not much scope to be \'evil\' in PS... well least not in a game mechanics sense. Here are two idea that i think would be easy to impliment and add quite a bit of gameplay!

1.) pickpocketing skill; chuck in an NPC Zak stylee that train\'s in pickpocking. R-click icon or target /pickpocket or something another player runs some /roll type deal and based and your skill & roll it takes an item of a equivelant value off a player e.g. max pick = 25 tria max items x2 so the thief would take say 2x rat hides or 25 tria. A check could be made against say... erm target\'s agility and if the thief fails to pickpocket the target would recieve a message saying \"$target attemps to pickpocket you and fails\" then a challenge is automatically made and accepted by the thief with no possibility to /yield. Would this work? I think so! :P an alternate source of income & a possiblity to use a thieving skill!

2.) Highway robbery; it would be groovy if you could decide to attack a player outside /challenge. E.g you see a fellow heading to Hydlaa or Akkaio to sell ore and you and a few other\'s jump out and attack. the target would have no choice but to ether engage in combat or /yield. Should the attacked person lose then they would drop a random item/items & be shunted off to the death realm... if they /yield a random item is given to the attackers  (or divded between them if grouped) ala monster kill style.

3.) Sneak attack; a charged attack (like spell casting) that leaves you open to attack? (drops defense) but allows the thief to hit the head for say x2 regular damage...

Anyway just a few things that would probably go horribly wrong in the current climate (?) but would be nice to see in future updates.... PS needs crime (but in a good way)!

Yeah been happening to me all day! once your char is affected with it the client dies everytime you try to use the character. So far I\'ve pestered a GM to re-locate me and it seems to work but always comes back to haunt you sooner or later...

General Discussion / Humm training what's all that about then!
« on: December 26, 2004, 10:13:26 pm »
Ya this kinda hurts my head too!

Atm I\'m a thief (I screwed my char gen big-time) and killed some defenseless rat beasts for two progress points. I then went to the magic shoppe and bought two skills in \'the dark way\'. my green bar moved up slightly (but only a very small bit) into the yellow but I didn\'t level up. Was this a silly thing to do? is it impossible (or at least v.hard to become a semi-magic user type spellsword?)

can you advance in skills without training? I.e advance in the sword skills just by fighting monsters alone?

On a comic note I got killed by the Carkcass (sp?) in the death realm for 3890 hit points :D

Oh btw I\'m settin\' up shop selling potions in dsar Akkaio if anyone wants to drop by...

EDIT: OMG! that sounds complicated Demar! /me pouts

Radar\'s... hummm that\'s not realistic :P

At the end of the day it\'s the players that will ultimatley mould planeshift and dicate how it eventually turns out I guess, but for me personally I\'m looking for the realistic \'live-a-life\' experiance rather than power-leveling nonsense so anything that adds \'realism\' is a good thing. Yes I\'m sad :D and loving it! flog me

I\'d love to knock WoW (the #1 selling MMO) but I\'ve not played it so i can\'t :(

--> Ya ditto on the darkness thingie :( sure you can boost the gamma/brightness with your nIVIDA advanced setting (and apply to \'all) but just upping the environ light level in the sewers should sort it (is this possible by editing a lighting.xml type thing?). Atm the rats are just black shapes :(

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Floating name things
« on: December 26, 2004, 04:53:36 am »
Yep i\'m all for removing them entirely! (realism and all that jazz) after all how would you know anything if you\'d not met that person before name/guild etc. But at the moment with only one skin per race/gender you\'d never recognise anyone :D Not entirely sure what I\'m trying to get at with this suggestion... humm O.o something... definatley something

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Great work on CB!
« on: December 26, 2004, 04:37:59 am »
Just wanted to say I really like CB so-far. Although it\'s inconsistently good... for example I think the login graphics are awesome (same style should be used throughout IMO) & what\'s been done with the GUI is *ahem* genius (especially) the macro/command buttons you can edit in-game and bind to! (lil\' bit buggy atm but worth the growing pains).

  Humm and as side note is it possible to bind multiple commands to \'em. e.g;
------------------
name: Slap

/say Hey! watch where your goin\' fool
/challenge
------------------

Anyway Updater rocks! nice to see that these live bugfixes & additions are being added as we go along. Not overly chuffed about new character models (and subsequent loss of skins) /me cries. But I\'m sure you have your reasons... but why oh why split the skin into seperate body parts images? O.o

Random suggestions;

1.) Possible to select which town you /spawn to? or come back from the death realm in.

2.) A (slightly) faster transport method to get to the enki town.

3.) A really basic hand-drawn map splash-screen thingie :P

4.) Random monster spawns in expansive wilderness area... that give chase (possibly?).

5.) In the floating name text would it be possible to indicate profession by a diff colour? e.g advisor/player-trader. The examine thing works fine but would it be possible to condense some of this info down.

I\'m sure you\'ve thought of this stuff already but would help shift a lot of players outside Hydlaa for reasons other than merchant/questin\'.

-EDIT: Sorry for posting in the Tech help section :( please move/delete me
