I think they, the devs didn\'t want payment, because they wanted PS to stay free. As in truly free, not having a free play mode, and a pay play mode, or anything like that.

Now I know everyone will jump and say that people don\'t *have* to pay, it\'s an option, but once PS generates any profit, some of the devs may want it to keep the profit coming, or the publishers, or whoever else gets involved may  want to keep the profit coming.  Because of that I think that PS does not want any money. Anyway, off with my opinion, it\'s slightly inibreated...

Is that true though? Have we really achieved anything together? I mean in the end we can see that all act in their own self interest. That is, I\'m not saying that altrusim does not exist, what I\'m saying is that absolute power corrupts absolutely.  As for the thesis, I\'m unable to view a copy, it\'s a bad link, or simply no longer where it was linked. That\'s unfortunate since it would be an interesting article to read. Anyway, I think humans band together for survival, since if we did not, the stronger, faster and more cunning predators would have cause our extiction long ago. Anyway, not sure how much sense this makes since I\'m drunk at the moment, though I did feel strongly enough to respond.

The above are all very interesting points, I find it unfortunate that I take a pesimistic view of the human race, though it could simply be the current political/world view I have. Anyway, good night all, since I think I\'m going to stop my rant.

Well think about how fast the world moves when *YOU* walk, no faster than in the game. Plus since running doesn\'t affect you in any way (there is no such thing as stamina or any other little gauge that prevents you from running) just turn autorun on and stop complaining about it. In some cases, it would be cool to be bound by a slow walking speed.

Like you are creeping through a dark mantion, your hart is pounding, but you\'re walking extra super slow so that you don\'t make any noise, because if you do, then you\'re DEAD!

Play hitman, any of them really, and you\'ll undrestand, or thief.

Anyway, just my two cents. I mean if you have an autorun, who cares. Plus you could make movement speed a funtion of agility, or something along those lines.

You know when you apply for a legal name change I think there ARE rules and other such things.

I was going to start a new thread, then decided to use the *SEARCH* button. So I found this thread.

One things I would like to say against having GM\'s enforce naming. In general it would be a bad idea, since PS is a free game, I think there will be a massive population explosion, that the GMs would not be able to control and therefore unable to enforce nameing.

A few reasonable Heuristics is not too much IMHO, since that\'s how traditionally people are named.

Things like enforcing Proper capitalization, and disalowing number and other characters from the name of our hero.

Things like 00doodz000_coolNeSS_187

should not exist... ever... in any RPG. This could be easily enforced, but not many games bother. I just wish that our devs would ensure that such things are not possible.

I mean things like Lordhoe would still be possible, but they are not nearly as annoying as leetspeak in RPG char names.

Anyway just though I\'d throw that out there.

Please consider the fact that GMs won\'t have the time nor patience to enforce naming... that\'s all I ask, simple heuristics would solve many leet names. (Oh and it might be a good idea to distinguish username, from character name, such that usernames must be unique, and may contain whatever characters, where as Proper names don\'t have to be Unique, ie John Smith and don\'t need to contain special characters)

Oh and things like Bob Dole the 3rd. is easily specified with just chars.

Bob Dole III

There, that was easy.

Ok, done...

You know, assassins would use easily concealable weapons, like poisond daggers, and other such things, in addition, they would really use all weapons, but only when applicable. Katar\'s are not the weapons of an assassin, they are just something the makers of diablo though would be cool. There could be katars, lets just not call them assassin\'s weapons...

Ok, sorry, now onto weapon of choice. I think ROCKS would be my weapon of choice (thinking of being a Kran and all that)

Barring that, a trusty katana, or a long bow (last samuri style).

As always, I think it should be an option, where those who don\'t like it, and think it detracts from game play (think 200 people in plaza all spouting these little bubbles) could turn it off.

You can\'t cater to everyone, but you could at least provide options to allow them to cater for themselves.

Hey you guys wanna know a secret?!

The US put sadam in power so they could have a puppet in the Middle East who would oppose Iran. (This was back in the day, way, way back in the day, this isn\'t a conspiracy theory)

You want to know something else?!

Osama was trained by the CIA, you know why?! So that he could orgenize a resistance in Afgahnistan, so that the side that was being reinforced and supported by the russian\'s would lose.

Later (when the iron curtain fell) the US of A relized that the russian\'s supported the better side (Not Al-Queda).

Also about democracy... You know Israel IS in the middle east, and it IS a democracy, it\'s not encouraging Iran or Iraq to change. Egypt I think is also a democracy. You know something else? The states funds a large protion of the Israely millitary. You know why?!

Anyway, I\'m sorry I got trolled into this, but it doesn\'t change what I said above. The US (and Russia, when they were powerful enough) played at statemaking, nationmaking, whatever you want to call it. Britian, France and Germany played at it before. Does it make it right? No!

Just because the world was a rotten place doesn\'t mean we would like to remain that way. Sometimes wars are necessary, sometimes they resolve issues the only way they could have been resolved.

Has the war on Iraq changed anything? I don\'t think so, Israel still suffers acts of terrorism every day. Terrorists still live and hide in Iraq, and the rest of the world for that matter. In addition, they have a cause for revenge now. You see, when you stick your hand into a bee hive you will get stung. We\'ll see how the US will deal with it\'s bee stings, because one thing\'s for sure, they really did stir the shit when they went into Iraq. Not because the UN disaproves, or any other country, but simply because now the Muslim Middle East has a common enemy.

Anyway, just my two cents, again with a small dash of facts.

To the people of the US of A, I do understand that one should stand for ones country. But one should also be able to understand when named country has bitten off more than it could chew. All I have to say is this, I\'ve lived in (Israel) a country, where getting on a bus was risking your life, because a suicide bomber could be on it. I\'ve lived in a country where going to the mall was risking your life because someone might run in with a gun and shoot you down. These weren\'t some remote possibilities, they happened almost daily. Israel was not oppressed by terror, we\'ll see how the US fairs.

Oh and one last thing, if you fight a war with terrorists, you will lose. Unless you yourself will resort to terror. Think about why that\'s true.

So here are a few reasons why the US (and Russia when it was a Super Power, are both wrong for what they did)

The US has constantly bombed one country or another for the last 2 or 3 decades. I\'m sorry I can\'t locate the actual refernce now, but it\'s not propoganda, it\'s recorded.

The US economy is a war time economy. When the US is not at war, the economy plumits (again, I\'m sorry that this sounds like I\'m pulling it out of my ass, but I have seen the refence material).

Anyway, I don\'t think evil is the appropriate term. And canadians, as far as I know (and I should know since I live here) are some of the most polite people in the entire world (not that I am, but in general). I think this is true statistically. Anyway, Canada never tried to be different, it just is Canada.

Oh and the US has screwed Canada many, many times, but the US is also the reason why Canada has not needed to keep a standing army for the last 200 years or so.

When Canada was developing the Avero Aero (an jet fighter that could reach the startosphere, I think) the US force Canada to scrap the project because they wanted to maintaine air superiority.

Should the US have done all those things? Maybe, maybe not... the point is, I think Canadians disaprove of the current gov\'t as opposed to the citizens of the US of A. and even though the US has been a pain in the ass, Canada still appreciates them and what they have done for us, I don\'t think you can say the opposite.

Anyway, just my opinions mixed with some facts. Have fun with it. :P

That fat golem looks very good.

You have style, I like that. You don\'t just sketch, but you have a way of drawing that makes things more interesting.

Very nicely detailed.

Yeah, well we can almost always assume that air resistance is negligible. Unless we deal with paper and such thing, or extremely high percision mesurements.

Anyway it is a joke, and it\'s funny. :)

When processes spawn children or threads (and I\'m going to assume that MB does, since it has to load things dynamically) it may encounter race conditions deadlocks, and other system hangups, that would vary from machine to machine, architecture to architecture, and OS distro to OS distro. I haven\'t tried yet, but I may when I get some spare time, compile it on my 333 K6-II linux box, and see what happens. Since my 9800 Pro card can\'t pull it and 512MB Ram is not enough. Bah... I guess I shouldn\'t post here since all the explinations for why it\'s laggy and why nothing can be done about it are fairly obvious. But I felt the need to vent a little steam.

They say patience is a virtue, I don\'t believe in virtues, but I can at least appreciate the fact that MB is a pre-alpha tech demo. Anyway, this isn\'t aimed at anyone, just venting steam and waiting form my portage cache to finish it\'s update cycle.

Great stuff.

Keep it up. Though generating a new comic once a week is pretty tough, take it from me I used to run a comic.

Then I didn\'t have the time to keep it going.

Anyway, great job.
