Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / Magic training?
« on: March 21, 2005, 10:14:01 am »
Several people ingame have told me that the guy in the magic shop provides magic training in all 6 ways.  However he will only offer me training in Crystal, Azure, Blue and Alchemy - I can\'t scroll down to see the other ways because I have no scroll bar!  Is this a known bug, or does he just not train in the other 3 ways? (contrary to what others have told me)

Have you installed it, or is that you have errors while installing? If it\'s already installed, have you run the Planeshift Updater yet?

Have you tried turning sound off? (seems to fix a multitude of problems) Sorry for not carefully reading the problem.

Exactly same crash after update, but there are no further updates yet to fix it.

The male Ynnwn model can get through the outer city door - keep walking/running toward the gap and you will squeeze through after a minute or so.

i am a diaboli with the corpse of a Ynnwns and in the same time i can\'t cross the doors of the tavern , library , city (for go in the forest and buy some magical items ...)

If you stand at the city gate and keep running at the gap in the doors, you will eventually get through. Might take a minute or two though.

Lost trias in both trades I\'ve done so far (on both sides of transaction).  Not to worry though, as the database is being reset.

Darn, I just figured out how to fly as well and I got all excited. Now I find out I\'m not the only one :P

I began with the correct number of trias, but no progression points (and 0% experience).  The player guide says that we start with five.  Is this a bug?  Is it possible that dying can remove progression points/experience? (I\'ve died from falling several times already).

Nice to hear some feedback.  Thanks :)
I like the idea of different languages that was brought up - but I suspect that languages and accents belong in the realm of mods/plugins/add-ons.  Even if CB were to be released tomorrow there are far more integral parts of the game that need work.
This is a wishlist though, and perhaps someday someone will create an approved mod for these features :D

Wish list / Accents?

An odd idea, but very easy to code:  How about giving different races a slightly different font for their chatting text, to indicate different sounding voices/accents? Just a little idea to add to the roleplaying experience.

Apparently the creators of Red Dwarf invented a word as a replacement for swear words on the show. So it doesn\'t technically mean anything... http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Red_Dwarf_(television)

I know what you mean - and talking is, IMO, the essence of roleplaying. In the MMO games I\'ve sampled, noone much talks while \'level grinding\' or doing boring, repetitive tasks - both things which I think the devs are trying to have us avoid :)
How much roleplaying (or even just chatting) is usually up to the player though - I\'ve had some great roleplaying experiences in the game-which-shall-not-be-named, believe it or not.
