I started playing EQ during the first week of release. Back in 1999, my friends and I who were playing EQ were thinking we should start a free MMORPG. We were thinking we could slip in corporate logos as sponsors, but it was more of a Blade Runner scenario.
We spent lots of time kicking back drinking coffee thinking about the possibilities and we didn?t think it would be appreciated, soo we just kept playing EQ.
Recently, I stopped EQ, I got bored mostly. It bothered me that I would have to cancel my account to stop paying and it was at a risk that in 5 months my 65 Shaman could poof, 5 years of creation down the toilet. It would be much nicer to think, \"well at this time in my life I don\'t have the time to play, maybe this summer\".
So, since I\'m not playing EQ any more, I downloaded the latest Red hat DVD ISO and prepared to finally do what I always wanted to do, get rid of Microsoft from my pc. As I sat down I thought to myself, \"What kinds of games can I play on Linux?\". I typed in Google \"Linux MMORPG\" it directed me to \"http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?s=&forumid=1&threadid=243973\" and blamo.....Here I am
I personally don?t see what I could contribute to this project, but I seriously want to help if I can think of anything. I am excited for you folks......
(Gawd, I love Open-source, Thank you Torvalds)
