Wish list / Master -> Apprentice (training)
« on: November 25, 2004, 02:38:12 pm »
First of all I\'d just like to say that I discovered PS! It\'s PS! Not PL! just a month ago and english is not my native language. So lets keep that in mind before flaming this poor newb.
Oh.... Hi to all aswell.
I did do a search on the subject and I didn\'t find the same idea as I have (it doesn\'t mean it is not hiding in there somewhere) so i\'ll cut to the point.
I would like to see the \"Master -> Apprentice\" learning system to be used on every possible \"job\". It wouldn\'t have to be the primary way to learn but atleast faster. What I would like to see is that more experinced players would teach the young players. This would bring more depth in guilds. For example: swordfighting. There could be a training grounds type of area where the master and apprentice could fight without damaging eachother. Other skills/crafts/traits/whatever could be done in a similiar way(well theres no sense if two armorers try to make armor out of eachother) How much(or fast) the apprentice\'s skill level would raise would be compared to the skill level of the master. So higher skilled players would be better teachers. The closer the apprentice gets to the level of his master the slower would apprentice\'s skill gaining get. This would let any higher level players to work as teacher of their craft (and maeby get some money on the side). This would also get lower level players to interact with higher level players more. There is a possible down side to this and it is: \"lvl me plzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!11 lvl me lvl me lvl me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\"
Master to Apprentice system is what existed before our schools and it did work so why shouldn\'t we try it as well?
I\'ll better just stop this babbling before my brain explodes.... eh... Well I hope you get the idea.
*EDIT*
First I thought I\'d take my noobish typo out of this post but Gronomist (thanks) was nice enough to fix it for me (called PS PL
) I\'ll leave as it is with a smile...
P.s. comments? (get away n00b? / we are not worth thy? / that was my idea! / or you can just say would you like too see this in PL...... I mean PS)
