Hmmmm... ok where to begin....

Are you opening the correct \"Updater\"?????????

It seams to me your error msg is from the Updater.app that comes with PS, and not Cha0s\' Updater.jar :P

Read more carefully. Just update everything using Cha0s\' updater.

The new updater does work, you just need to make sure your Mac is using the correct version of Java.

You can make sure you are using the correct version by typing this in the terminal:
Code: [Select]

java -version

You should get build 1.5.0_05-83 or something like that.

Note: Mac OS 10.3 and below does not have Java version 1.5.x

If you are running Mac OS 10.4 you only need to use the terminal once, to set the Current Version of Java to 1.5 after that u can just double click the Updater.jar. If you dont want to use the terminal just use the Updater-old.jar

I check and ran an update called:
About Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Release 3 for Mac OS X v 10.4.2 or later

I don\'t think Java has anything to do with PS. If anything the Updater.jar would have been broken but this is not the case.

I don\'t think its a firewall problem. And i don\'t think you need a tutorial on using the build in firewall, if you want, just turn it on and add the correct port to your list by pressing on the \"New...\" button.

I think this problem is caused by something else, could you please post exactly what happens? Can you load the PS client? Do you get an error message? a console log would help too.

BTW, how did you get Mac OS 10.4.4 since its just been seeded to developers? o.O

This happens on my computer too, according to some GM in the game, this is because of the type of video-card on your Mac.

I\'m not saying Spock has any wierd condition but he might have misunderstood it. I\'m not running MAC as a OS but it doesn\'t mean I can\'t help you....

I didn\'t mean to be rude, but there is a big post with red and bold letters that says: Important: READ BEFORE POSTING: A Guide to Running Planeshift on Mac OS X

If you are on a Mac, you don\'t need to worry about viruses for the moment. No hacks, spyware, trojans etc.

don\'t have zonealarm......or anything like it besides my snitch program. how can I make it let me dial out to P.S.? (I apologize for repeating myself)

Perhaps you have some restrictions in your network, are you trying to play from a School computer, collage campus or something?

[EDIT] i just read the last posts... seams like you do....we found the problem!

I really should read all the posts before answering  ^_^;;
