I\'ve had the same problem. A day or two ago there was another thread with this, but no one responded.
It is possible to get past these errors, but it\'s a little bit of a pain to do. For me, anway, this is what works half the time.
Uninstall Planeshift, then reinstall. Do not update the software. I get the majority of the problems after I update the files. This will probably change, depending on what fixes they release over the next few weeks.
Reboot your computer. Do \'not\' start any other programs. You want as many system resources as possible free. I don\'t know how or if it is possible, but I\'ve noticed if I have programs like MSN running that it will crash Planeshift a lot sooner.
Connect to the internet. If you have dialup through AOL this might not work. I\'ve been able to run it when I had Bellsouth active, but not AOL.
Go to your Planeshift setup and click 800x600, fullscreen, Audio off (or OpenAL which seems to work better on my system), 15 bit color depth, and the vertex buffer off. Don\'t select load all maps.
Now try startin Planeshift. Hopefully it will run now. You might still get the occasional crash, but at least it will let you start.
Just as a sidenote, Kira, do you use a GeForce FX card?
