Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / serious problem

for some reason when i try to login it won\'t let me type the @ sign for the username it just types a two. maybe i\'m doing something wrong. yes i held the shift key!
hopefully this isn\'t a widespread problem, it would keep all users from logging in.
