Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) /

Another thing you can try is this:

click on start and select run

type command or command.com

it will bring up a command prompt

type;

c:\\Program Files\\Planeshift Crystal Blue

then type

updater --auto

this is a text only version and it has worked for me when the regular has failed.  If it downloads a new version of the updater, and it crashes.  Do as above and unzip the files from updater.zip into the planeshift folder. Then run planeshift --auto again

Try this if everything else didn\'t work for you.

Give it time - there will always be some guilds starting up, but eventually you will begin to see certain guilds more and more often.  I see the Sentinels of the Ragnarok quite often as well as Ravenguard  and others.  The guilds that are going to be dominate are the ones that keep loyal players.  Foofoo guilds will not be able to achieve this.  They will not last and they will not have any measureable impact on the game.  In contrast, the good guilds will become more and more prominent.  This process will simply take some time to develop.

We probabily will be seeing more and more sad excuses for guilds.  Its a side effect of the game becoming more and more popular.  Its sort of a catch 22.  Still, sad excuses for guilds will likely be poorly organized, with no real direction and no real loyal followers.  People like to have a purpose.  So having bad guilds start up is not a big deal, because those guilds will not last long, and after its all disbanded, those people will be looking for another guild to bounce to, if they are even still playing.  So it doesn\'t really hurt the other guilds in the game enough to complain about it.

Yep - thats correct. Don\'t listen to them.  You can do whatever you want - that is part of what makes games like this so much fun and exciting.  They are closer to real life than most games because they are open ended and the players are real people. That way there is an envirnment where people can exist and even play in roles they couldn\'t fulfill in real life.  Think of the scrawney kid who wishes he could be a great warrior - with a little dedication, he can in planeshift.  So if you want to have a dunkerds guild I say go for it.  Having it just makes the game that much more realistic. :)
