It wouldnt stop them, persay.

However since they could be killed without penalty, and after a point the players would gain bonuses i.e. bounties, they would be hunted by players and have to stay away from larger cities.

This is going on the assumtion that the majority of the community will be anti-pk if they arent then pking will run wild.

Actually I like the potential of the dialogue system we currently have, It has the potential to be, excellent. It just needs a lot of time and work put into it, so that the npcs will recognize more phrases. Once the database is fleshed out things should be much much better.  

I do like the idea of maybe bolding certain words or phrases in the npc\'s text to show, what you could get more information on though, it\'s something to look at

There is develiping game called Illarion, in which pking would have to be your intent.
Let me clarify, when two people fight each other one or possible both of them (depending on certain factors of the fight ie, poison, magical effects) would be rendered unconcious. They would lie there for a period of time unless they were healed, while they are lying there their body is available for looting.  In order to pk you would have to target the unconcious body and attack again.

I propose we use a similar system, with the additions of
Looters get penalized, IE higher good npc\'s charging higher prices, a period where they may be looted without penalty, and if they loot enough then they should be allowed to be pked without penalty. Attention could be given to them by bounties being placed on their heads.


Giving people the ability to loot without having to kill should cut down on a lot of pking as you wont really gain anything by killing a player

Pk\'s should be available to loot and kill without penalty.

This system would be nice in that looters and pkers would have to lay low if they wanted to survive, and they would have to go after people who were alone unless they were extremely strong. By offering players the abillity to loot, and kill, it would encourage players to stick together for safety and potentially build up the rp environment.


A side note on looting, they should not be able to take all your items/armor/weapons perhaps as Tibia does the player should lose everything in their bag and possibly a random item they were wearing.

I like this idea, the small item idea seems especially creative.
To limit abuse we would simply limit the amount of papers one can purchase to one a day.

A chance to get a rare and valuable item would keep people purchasing the paper day in and out.

A few ideas for the items would be
Gift certificates: Allows you to have credit at the store from which it originated

Pieces of a map: Once you have collected all the pieces the map would be assembled leading to treasure, a hidden city, a secret dungeon, etc etc

Trading cards: Few ideas here.   Have a dueling mini card game for people to play in game, worked for Final Fantasy why not here? Besides our players need diversions while we work.  

Collecting cards on famous and infamous historical PS figures/places/events/monsters have a shop that only will trade for cards, IE a collecting fanatic who has odd things possibly a ultra-rare items available to whomever collects an exhorbinate amount of cards.

The ideas could be combined, when dueling you risk cards and winning offers dual benifits improving your deck and getting more cards for trade in.


Pieces of spell/alchemy/smithing instructions: Instructions on how to create one of the listed jobs products

Miscellanious stuff: Hankerchief, Bubblegum,Paper etc.  Items with no real value.

Actually yes it is conversation, I am hoping to flesh out the current General Knowledge database.....to make our npc\'s \"smarter\"

Oddly enough this was what I was working on when I left. At anyrate I\'ll get caught upto speed soon enough and begin making improvements.

With luck diligence and constant nagging Im sure Ill be able to produce some noticable changes in a few weeks.

(note: if I do have noticable results in a few weeks it doesnt mean that there will be an update.  I dont make calls on those  =p )

Ok Im fully back now and working, I will be attempting to do some improvements to the npc\'s any questions, comments, praie, flames can be directed to xj975@yahoo.com I will answer them when I get around to reading them.  Which should be somewhat regularly.

You dont want to be pked dont go into an arena. Seems relatively simple to me.
