Looks like latest CVS fixed the updater, but now the server is rejecting me saying I don\'t have the right version..

Always something.. eh.. :)

LoadWidget:
Error parsing xml in file: /this/data/gui/gmaddeditaction.xml

I don\'t know if it applies, but I made sure that the person running the updater has full permission to create/delete directories from the entire planeshift directory (user owns the entire planeshift directory)

Same here, no go.. :(

Tried that.. then i re-run updater and it creates it again and just errors out the same way..

I have been building PS CVS for awhile, and within the past few days, updater has stopped working.

I get the following error:
Quote
meff@ghreen:/opt/games/planeshift-cvs/planeshift$ ./updater -auto
Critical files () not found (Server only)
NOTIFY: psUpdaterEngine initialized.
Downloading registry...
Couldn\'t write to file! (/this/updatertemp/repos.zip)
Couldn\'t download updater registry from server!

I have checked the updatertemp dir permissions, and I am sure I can write to it..

Kinda stumped, though I am probably overlooking something simple :)

Thanks.

Well not a fix but a workaround.. :) Thanks, though I\'m not going to waste a slot to fix this bug.

I get it with latest cvs in linux also.. Very annoying. I just reload PS over and over until it works..

No problems :) Thanks for all your work.
You think it\'ll be out today?

This isn\'t the right forum for this.. But..

CVS is bound to have problems, and if you don\'t know how to fix code sometimes, you should stay away from compiling things on your own from scratch, especially projects this large.

As I said many times, give Karosh some time to update the binaries..

Guys, just sit tight and wait for Karosh to put up the updated binaries..

If you really want to play RIGHT now, compile CVS for a few hrs and then login.. :)

Karosh I think they updated the server, says my client is too old..

Any way we can defeat this in the future, perhaps asking the devs to let you know when they plan to make an older version of the client useless with a server update? Heh.

I don\'t really feel like building cvs just to play today (by the time that build finishes you may already have it ready..) so I guess I\'ll wait awhile..

Could you place a newer updater file for download please.

Try reading the first post again, more carefully.

Use psupdater --auto

It uses text mode updating which doesn\'t have these problems.

Nasty thing is, this crash occurs while downloading through vfs.so. Which means I must replace vfs.so before updater will run again :\\.

Bus error? IIRC that\'s a hardware problem crash.. Not absolutely positive though..

Try memtest86+ on your RAM :)
