Actually, there is green and gold in there too. But I didn\'t want to give him red skin, partly because in Diaboli are described as having black skin, and partly because red skin wearing a red robe would have been bad. He did actually start out black with bronze highlights and blue reflected light, but....well....it was terrible, and I had to start over. Two days work down the drain. As for his hands, I\'m afraid that I nearly wore a hole in the page drawing and re-drawing them.

Actually, I had seriously considered (and still may) do her in an outfit that consists entirely of beads, such are/were worn in many african tribes. The reason I have her wearing more \'modern\' clothing is that the idea of running around in the forest, being chased up trees and what not, in nothing but a leather bikini, doesn\'t appeal.
   Mind you, having said that, Seytra is probably right about the bands. All I can say in their defense is that they looked cool at the time.  = )

This your first try with charcoal? If so, two pieces of advice.

1. Keep a clean sheet of paper over the sections of your drawing you have already done, so you can rest your wrist and arm without risking smudging anything.

2. If you must smudge (and I admit the temptation to solve shading issues by smudging can be overwhelming,) roll up a piece of tissue or buy a blending stick, don\'t use your fingers. Fingers leave oils on the paper, and even if it doesn\'t show right away....it will.
