i have a suggestion for the devs.  in a post i read oh so long ago, a dev commented that a particular player had been playing for a week, and spent, on average, something like 10 hours a day on planeshift.  i believe the dev said something like \"some commitment!\"

anyway, this implies that the devs have some way of logging how long characters have been actively played.  not how long since they\'ve been created, but how much time a player has actually spent in the world.

i suggest that this could be used when migrating players to give them a bonus.  characters that have been played longer would start with PP\'s and/or trias to give them a little kick start.  not a whole lot, but just something to get them on their feet.

just a suggestion, and of course, it may be impossible.

i think this is a non-issue.  if you want to spend 10 years killing rats you\'re welcome.  it\'ll be a boring 10 years.  i am asking for the same amount of money, the same rate of development, just with more options about how you get them.

being able to take quests multiple times does appear to be a bug though.  i did Levrus Dahrenn\'s gold quest, and he paid me.  i did it again, and he didn\'t.  just took my gold.  very annoying.

is it possible to stop quests being given multiple times, or make sure that we get paid for them every time?

(i\'ve just checked and the same problem applies with Harnquist\'s gold quest)

from my perspective, having only been playing the game for a week or so, i have two comments:

1) as a brand new character it might be nice to have a ~little~ money to start off with.  perhaps 100 tria.  so that you can either buy a pick, or have a good start towards your first weapon.  that first stage of punching rats gets a tad tedious when you have a good chance of dying.

2) i would like to see more financial rewards generally available from killing monsters and doing quests.  so far the only monsters i have managed to kill at loot are rats.  gobbles, rogues and clickers don\'t seem to have any.  since i need money at the moment i am killing rats rather than exploring.  i\'d like to be able to do both.  the only quest i have managed to complete is the easy \"fetch the holy script\" quest, and got no money for it.  can\'t find many others, but i hope they give you a reward after completing them, otherwise at this stage i am still stuck killing rats.

A NEW PROBLEM:  having copied mike\'s xmltiny.dll i ran the updater and got an error: couldn\'t find the dynamic link library MSVCP71D.DLL.

my thought on advising and all that.  i am new and needed a question answered, can\'t remember exactly what it was, but the conversation was like this:

Me: How do I do X?
Advisor: You just need to do Y.
Me: Ah, thanks!

i thought it was nice to say thank you.  unfortunately the advisor did not reply to my thank you, which seemed to effectively leave an open question.  this meant that later, when i had another question to ask, i couldn\'t because i still had an unanswered question.

any thoughts on how to solve this?  auto-time-out on questions possibly?

hi

i\'m new to the whole game and i get the same problem.  i can create a character with the Paths options, but selecting individual things myself leads to a massive negative number (around -120ish) even if i pick the lowest cost options and take all the negative-cost life traits.

definitely seems to be a bug in there somewhere.
