General Discussion / Re: NPC voiceovers!
« on: July 14, 2009, 01:51:15 am »
I guess it would be a good idea to organize some stuff.
Are there any pages?
Wich Races / NPCs talk wich accent?
Need female voices?

Where to organize? Wiki? Forum?

Linux Specific Issues / Re: Installer Feedback
« on: September 23, 2006, 09:03:29 pm »
It's been a while since i played PS last time.

So i couldnt login to play today - old version :-)

Got the new .bin from Forum link.
(None of the torrents or .bin links from Download Page worked)

Installed .16 (64bit) over old .15b (64bit), run updater (updating binary psc),
run pssetup and psclient.

Tadaa! It works!

Once again, good work Xordan.
And Thanks to all PS-Devs.

« on: March 01, 2006, 01:51:05 am »
Hi Xordan,

Noxide moved my char around and for some steps i could walk.

But now standing on Hydlaa Plaza i still cant move: \"Is inmobile\"

Shall i compile with debug symbols? Wanna have a gdb trace?

what i try next is a new Character, maybe that helps.
Update1: didnt help, same probs.

and i update my Nvidia drivers.
Update2: nope now using 8187. doesnt help

Lets see ho it goes...

Linux Specific Issues / CG toolkit
« on: March 01, 2006, 12:12:01 am »
OK,

i don\'t know what the CG toolkit has to do with my prob, but i loaded version 1.4 from Nvidias dev page.

recompilled all stuff. I think crystalspace is the only package that uses CG.

but the the problem still persists. i cannot move.
All gfx is shown good. i can change camera view and do mouse lookarounds.

Any other hint/suggestion?

Linux Specific Issues / easy_planeshift ok, but planshift has issues
« on: February 28, 2006, 07:27:03 pm »
Hi all,

after some information gathering & test compilling i had a successful running updater, pssetup + psclient.

but first i reallised was that the updater gui doesnt show any information updates when not moving the window! strange isn\'t it?

seccond i saw my char walking round in the sewers for some steps then i died. then i was placed in the very bottom of death realm. this is the only place i can walk! but when i /die to get to the place in the cave i cant walk anymore and console only says \"Is inmobile\" no /unstick nor /die nor restart - wich drops me to the very bottom of death realm again - help here.

My HW configs:
CPU: AMD64
RAM: enough
HDD: enough
GFX: Nvidia Geforce 5700 (TwinView)

My SW configs:
OS: SuSE 10.0
WM: KDE 3.5.1a

Here u can find the easy_planeshift build log.
Here u can find the psclient console log.

Well, its not a big thing but ...

... when entering just a \" \" (space) and hitting
it correctly says something like \"You must enter Text\".
But it keeps \"/say  \" in chat history!

PS:
Forgot the Why-Clause.
As I sayd its not a big thing but it could be anoying to people who what to write, then erase - leaving a space - hit enter to move character and want to use chat/command history to dig (for example).

Another OffTopic thing:
On http://laanx.fragnetics.com there is no direct link to

Please keep on the briliant work,
Ralph.

Linux Specific Issues / no success
« on: August 07, 2005, 11:39:29 am »
After trying out the .runs (32bit and 64bit) from xpam, i find them not working.
psclient complaind missing iSoundManager or so.

So i tried the cvs tarballs from there to compile.
But compilation of PS failed at pssound.o (afair).

And an compile of a new CVS PS CO also failed.

So i am faling back to wine psclient.exe! :-(

I just tried to compile the CVS (2005-08-06 ~16:00 CEST), but failed:
#>jam psclient
...patience...
...found 1184 targets...
...updating 2 targets...
C++ ./out/linux/debug/src/client/modehandler.o

   this function)
src/client/modehandler.cpp:166: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported
only once for each function it appears in.)

    g++  -c -o ./out/linux/debug/src/client/modehandler.o  -DCS_DEBUG -g3 -I/home/ralph/planeshift64/CS/include -I/home/ralph/planeshift64/cel/include -fexceptions -I/home/ralph/planeshift64/cal3d/include   -I. -I./include -I./src/common -I./src/client -I./src/server  src/client/modehandler.cpp

...failed C++ ./out/linux/debug/src/client/modehandler.o...
...skipped psclient for lack of modehandler.o...

I know it should work on 64bit, couse i had it running once.

I had PS running through wine, also used the 32bit installer.

Wish list / Just rework /confirm
« on: June 20, 2005, 10:23:31 pm »
As Zan stated the possibility of a killing bot,
which we dont want, nearly all parts of my wish is obsolete!

But a better /confirm command would be good.

Your,

General Discussion / Online Players Peak
« on: June 19, 2005, 11:13:19 pm »
Since i play the game i realised a straight increasing number of online players.
Yesterday i have seen 93 Players online!
So, i hope the servers can cope with the load produced by such an amount of players.

However, we have to prepare for the 100th Online User!
btw. a chart of online players on laanx.fragnetics.com would be great.

Glad to play a part in that game,
Ralph.

there actually is a command to drop a user but ur right, theres no button in the Group window and no context menu or so to drop a specific member.
