Therefore, I would be extremely surprised if MACs were that much superior to give you any usable performance whatsoever.

Seytra, a 500 Mhz Mac runs roughly the same speed (depends on usage) as a 1Ghz PC.

Everyone else, the biggest factor on FPS is probably your graphics card.  That\'s generally my limiting factor when playing games.  I use an 800 Mhz G4 iMac with 512MB RAM and whatever the standard graphics card was when it was bought.

The only time RAM got me, was trying to play UT2004.  I don\'t think any part of my computer was up to date.

You probably have to run it through Terminal.  To do this type \"cd\" (minus quotes), a space, and then drag your Planeshift folder onto the Terminal window.  Hit RETURN.  Then type \"./psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient\"  and RETURN.  This should get the client going although you won\'t be able to get in the game because there isn\'t a current Mac version yet.  Dryfer is working on it though.

June!!!  Hopefully it\'ll be sooner than that.  And please tell me it\'s not coming on the 46th of June otherwise that will be one really long wait.  Anyways, thanks for the feedback Dryfer and keep up the excellent volunteer work.

From my observations Macs have 0.3.007.  This was a valid version about a week ago, but since then there has been an update that has not yet been released on Mac.

And by know means is that what I meant.  I would just like to explore for a little more than two minutes at a time  ;)

(Although crash free would be nice.)

The only way to get it to work that I know of is going through the giant rigamorole.  If you feel up to it you can find it here. If not it might be a long time before they fix it.  Also as far as I know no Mac is able to get on right now due to a version update but no Mac release yet.

Hey, Blackbow, do you launch the psclient through the terminal and if so when PS unexpectedly quits, do you get \"Bus Error\" as the last line printed in terminal.

I hope the new version fixes this.

This requires heavy use of Terminal.

Quotes show EXACTLY (including spaces) what to type/look for
1) Open up \"psupdater.cfg\" in TextEdit.  Change \"readxml\" to \"tinyxml\" and save.

2) Run terminal type \"cd \"  Drag and the PlaneShift folder into the terminal screen and press RETURN

3) Type \"./updater.app/Contents/MacOS/updater\" and hit RETURN.  This will launch the official updater.  Run it and wait for it to update.  When it\'s done exit out of it.

4) Type \"./psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient\" and hit RETURN.

5) Enjoy!

PS.  You will probably have to repeat steps 2 and 4 (not 3) in order to launch CB from here on out as double-clicking seems to stop working.  Good luck and wait a little because we MacMen are a version behind the server at the moment.
