Using the binary provided as an official download is merely one option. If this is unsuitable there is a provided install script that downloads and compiles the planeshift source code, meaning you always have the latest and greatest client available to use.
Thanks I realise this I have successfully downloaded the code and attempted to compile, (which was successful in the end!), however I am running an amd64 based machine, with gcc as a 64 bit compiler, (apparently it is not possible to compile on amd64) for some reason I get a errors with loading the wave files, and I don\'t compile those
. My original question was is it possible to only force the updating of clients that have been updated, therefore enabling everyone access when a new client is released, until such a point as a 3rd party or dev has the opportunity to update them.
