I will not start a guild just because I want to lead something... The leading should be done by a council of 5 members where every decision is voted by the council.

The purpose of creating a guild is that I want to share ingame information with other people or members. I had also a look on already exsisting guilds. A good one which I know is "The way of the Hammer" but it became too structured where a higher ranked member tells you what you have to do and I don't like that idea. I want to be free to do what I want. If I want to go mine, I will go mine. If I want to go explore, I go explore. I don't need someone inside the guild who tells me "You have to do this and that..."

That was the main purpose why my character will start a guild. And I was hoping to find some people who feel and think the same way.

If the guild has later enough members, there will always be something to do for everyone.

I know there is still some work to do. Like a good history and story.
Also some suggestions from people who want to join the guid are very welcome.

For the web page, I have no idea how do make one, therefore I hope some future members could help for this subject.

It should not just be a guild to "hang out" with people, but I also don't want to restrict people in what they should do ingame.

If a member whants to go mine and after some time he whants to go for quests, then he should be able to do this.

Again, I will be very happy for any help.

I changed it now to an english speaking guild so that everyone can join, not only german speaking players.
I agree with some of you that it will not really work if I make restrictions to the language.
Also I agree with the argument that german is not known in the world of planeshift and so the guild will not meet the requirements of roleplaying.

Allright. Thanks a lot for your explanation.

Will the guild then have more acceptance if i turn it into an english spoken guild?
For me it is not really a problem to change this.

I can understand if you don't like the idea very much, but think also about the ppl who don't speak english as first language. And also I thought that the planeshift community is open to everyone.

So don't make such comments. If you don't want to say anything useful, simply don't say anything.

Hello @all,

I want to found a new dwarf guild. If you are interested, please let me know.
For further information check http://masadvertth.eamped.com/index.php.

First it should be a german only guild but as some members explained to me that it will not work, I changed it to an english spoken dwarf guild.

Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance

Note:  I had to change mirrors in order to get trepor.zip to install properly.  There is a posting on this somewhere.

You know, maybe we need a sticky with all the solutions to the problems we\'re encountering: a living document on how to install the linux version.

Because I had not deleted my previous installation (with the installer), I have now tried the steps described in this guide. Unfortunatly, I have not tested this installation yet because the CVS build is still running and I want first to wait until this has finished.
I hope at least one of these installations work. I will keep you up-to-date and post my results of both installs.

MANY MANY thanks for all your help and tipps you provided.

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) /
« on: August 19, 2005, 03:24:27 am »
Hi,
After reading tons of posts, I have tried to turn off the Hardware Acceleration of my Graphic Adapter; and the Setup & updater looked fine after this. But the Game worked not with this option. So I have turned on the Hardware Acceleration again and tried with another glwin32.dll; but with this, the Game crashed.

Now i?m pretty sure it has somethig to do with this glwin32.dll. I would be very happy if someone has a solution for this problem. (Some configs to do or an update of the game)

I really like this game an the idea behind; the devs are making a good job.

Hello, I had also this problem after updating my client.
The only solution for me was to download the whole new build; that fixed the problem.

Sorry that you have to download the whole thing again.

This was on another machine than my post below. This client works perfect
