Wish list / less fall damage!

I decided to follow the \"guidelines\" and went wandering without a map.  I WALK not run down a gentle slope - boom!  Dead from fall damage.

Fine, maybe it was steaper than I thought.   I go to the end of the world!  I climb a nice gentle slope to get a good view.  I walk back the way I came and BOOM!  I fell down and died.  Losing over 50hp from sliding (not even falling this time) down a hill that was shorter than my character??

I wish for less fall damage!  How about 10hp for every 2 game meters(or 6ft) or something similar?

i\'m sorry but the whole \"no maps allowed\" routine is a little lame for any game, and here\'s why:

IN CHARACTER, there would have been dozens of adventurers keeping logs of their travels.  IN CHARACTER since there is a library, someone must be literate enough to use it.
Therefore IN CHARACTER we should have access to some kind of legitmate map of at least parts of the world..  even if it is hung up on a wall and not buyable.

My CHARACTER could pick up some bark and scratch general directions onto a piece of tree bark if needed.  Why not just simplify the process for us real people who are controlling the whole thing?

It\'s anal retentive.

General Discussion / misunderstand character wipe

The post about the character wipe clearly states that \"all points, trias, and items will be gone and reset to the starting position \", while preserving guild information...

This means that all characters will return to a \"newly created\" state.  This is clearly NOT saying that characters will be deleted.

So how come people wanting to delete characters are being told to wait for the wipe?  
Is the post wrong, or is the advice wrong?

If the junk characters we don\'t want will still be there, we will be sad.

My comment on role playing is this:

Create a character you would like to be, and then BE that character.  
Playing games is about distracting yourself from real-world obligations and enjoying yourself.  Role-playing is about picking up imaginary world obligations to enjoy yourself.

Planeshift lets you create a character that spent their  youth as a circus freak, joined a street gang, and then worked under horrible conditions in a crystal mine.  

How would this person act and feel once finally past all of this?  Some would be bitter and mean, others would be optimistic and cheered to have a new future.  

It is you-the-player\'s obligation to take your interpretation of this digital individual\'s life and add it to the virtual world.

I just found out I cannot delete my unwanted characters.  In the old text-based days we always had a \"suicide\" command.  Let people start over without cluttering up server storage space.

thanks, didn\'t see the \"old bug\" using search.  guess i gotta go find a glyph seller!

Normally it is not possible to attack an NPC that someone else is fighting.  You get the message \"You must be grouped with PlayerX\"

Spellcasters however, are not only able to attack that NPC, they are able to \"steal\" the kill and get the looting rights.  When the spell is cast, the person in the fight simply stops attacking and continues to get hit.  The mage is then free to cast his spell until the NPC is dead.

I don\'t think that allowing spellcasters to use PlayerX as a living meat shield was an intented feature!
