OK, I managed to compile a sever version from the date 24. March 2005. The fragnetics have server that was compiled a day later. Now everything is running fine. I can even play the game with installer client from my computer.

Something bethers me though. The only place we can wisit is the NPCroom, the only character we can create is a dawrf. Of course, there are more models, but server sais \"no way, you will be a dwarf\". Not literaly, of course. I checked the docs directory, and there it sais that this version is not intended for playing, and it sugests som other version of Molecular blule. I am downloading the latest version, to see if theese sugestions have been changed in those two months.

Now, can anyone point me to a guide that describes server management? If I understand correctly,all those commands that are described on the web, are client commands. There must bee some server only commands.

and secondly, what has to be done, to create a new account in mysql database?

I sure hope, someone knows something.

OK, here\'s a nexplanation for the question nr 1. I updated my CVS version, it downloaded a bunch of dlls, a few cfg files... And now even server doesn\'t work, it just prints a lot of text in a maner like:

SCF_NOTIFY: class cel.addons.celentity (from d:\\uporabniki\\Anze\\programiranje\\planeshift\\cel\\addon_celentity.dll) has already been registered in a different context: {none}\' vs. \'app\' (from D:\\Uporabniki\\Anze\\Programiranje\\planeshift\\planeshift\\addon_celentity.dll); this message appears only in debug builds

and ends with

WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.graphics2d.null2d\'
NOTIFY: Could not get sound loader
NOTIFY: Could not get sound driver
NOTIFY: Could not get model converter
NOTIFY: Could not get model crossbuilder

Also client behaves the same way as the one in installer.

I suspect it has to do something with system variables that had to be set up in order to properly compile PlaneShift. Now some definitions are doubled and program doesn\'t like that. Only my gues of course.

I don\'t know if this is the right place for questions like theese, but here they are.

I am trying to set up a private server for PlaneShift. I have downloaded all the sources and compiled as described here: http://laanx.fragnetics.com/index.php?page=build_visual.

And server works, spitting out a few warnings about resources that it didn\'t find.

And that is about the only thing that works. When trying to connect with client from Windows installer (fully updated, of course) from different computer i get wrong client version error. When I try running Windows installer client from the computer server is running on, I get something like \"Type of shader \'std_loghtning\' si not \'xmlshader\' but \'(nil)\', and the window closes. When I try running the client that compiled along with server, graphics are buggy and when I try to connect to server, I get Windows error window that points to somwhere in the source and exits.

So this is the situation. And now the questions.

1. As far as I was following the updater, it downloads a lot of art, a few xml files and nothing else. Is this updater also good for updating a CVS version?

2. what version of server do I have to compile, if I want to run a 0.3.009?

There. I hope this ins\'t too hard.
