For 32 bit applications, performance is pretty much the same (Windows XP x64, Promise and Reality). And driver support for XP64 is still an issue, so that might be why XP32 is installed.

Dell systems are \"customizable\". For example there is the Dimension 9100 series which is the \"Latest MultiMedia Technology for High End Performance\" and it\'s advertized as from ?549 for a Pentium D up to 3.2GHz, up to 4GB RAM, PCI Express Graphics up to 256MB ATI Radeon X850 XT PLatinum Editon, up to 1000GB SATA HD, etc.
Actually, a system with these top specs costs ?2500-3000+, depending on other options you select. For ?549 you get a good business system but not the \"Latest MultiMedia Technology for High End Performance\" and only 1 year warranty.
Dell prices may be cheaper at times because Dell is the number 1 PC maker so it\'s easier for them to get deals from suppliers and the like, so they might double your RAM for \"free\" or include a \"free\" printer (which you will end up paying for anyway when buying ink cartridges).
If you\'re not afraid of refurbished systems, checkout Dell Outlet. There are some good bargains.

The Computer Shopper magazine recommends the ?1099 Dell Dimension 5000 (Part code PPUK5-D04507R) (Intel Pentium 4 550 3.4GHz HT, 1GB RAM, 250GB hard disk, 256MB nVidia 6800 graphics, DVD+/-RW DL and DVD ROM drives, 19\" LCD.). It\'s got a BTX case (which has better airflow) so this ought to solve the heat problems the other posters mentionned. If you\'ve got a tight budget they recommend the ?599 MESH Matrix Vector Blast but with only a 1024*768 15\" LCD it probably won\'t suit you.

...
I simply cant think someone born criminal

Raping as a reproductive strategy is a most disturbing and very controversial theory. While I understand your point, allow me to differ.
Concerning animal species other than humans, violent sexually-motivated assaults and penetration sometimes occur, this is true. The \"defining attribute of rape in humans is the lack of informed consent, which is difficult to determine in other animals\" (Wikipedia). Now we have two options, either it looks to us like rape but it is not (some form of anthropomorphism) or it really is rape. In this second case, I believe that such behaviour is exhibited by a minority of the given species so it is not \"normal\". Also, the fact that it is not widespread can be used to show that it is not a (suitable) reproductive strategy (if ever this is what it is).
Now concerning humans, let us assume that rape is biologically motivated or \"natural\" as you say. It is therefore part of our nature (or that of people with rapist genes, if you adhere to that idea) which makes every man a born criminal (the very idea you abhor).
Rape \"is awful but only for us\", as you say. According to Wikipedia, rape \"is considered by most societies to be among the most severe crimes.\" My opinion is that the greater the equality between genders (or the less women/children are regarded as objects/inferiors) in a society, the more likely it is that rape will be severely punished in that society.
Like you, I believe that no one is born a criminal. Human beings are capable of thought and of choice. This is precisely why rape (whether biologically motivated or not) cannot be excused.

Actually, Jackson bought a majority of the Beatles\' titles during the 1980s (now jointly shared with Sony). However there is much speculation about whether he sold/will sell them because of financial problems. Afterall, Neverland is a money pit and he has settled a number of lawsuits for quite a large sum of money.

fken, I don\'t want to argue with you (lest I should end up in hospital). Obviously, he underwent extensive plastic surgery. However from what I know (from Google searches), you cannot change your complexion through surgery, long term depigmentation results from the application of monobenzone-containing products or laser treatment.

But I guess not all plastic surgery goes how you want it; and when you\'ve got money to burn, as he had, you\'ll probably want to keep going back, to try and get it right. Think about it... you\'re in the media constantly, always in view of the public. If you\'re shy, and have low self-esteem, you\'ll want to look appealing to these people, because you\'ll care what they think.

Unfortunately for him, it just got worse. And people pounce on him as if he\'s the only celebrity to have undergone such surgery... uh, wrong. He\'s probably had the least face work done out of all of them. The only difference is, you can see it. I can\'t imagine how the poor guy must feel.

I agree with you though not about him having the least face work.
There is this website (not particularly tasteful but enlightening nonetheless) which records celebrities\' botched plastic surgery. Some of them are scarier than Micheal Jackson.

Here is a bug I get from time to time (bug described on phpBugTracker as bugs  780  and 789 ). The sewer water allows you to see the level underneath:

It is often (always?) accompanied by this bug:

This skin condition is called vitiligo and it\'s not so rare, apparently it affects about 1 to 2% of the world population. Possible treatments include depigmentation (often when more than 50% of the skin is affected). Jackson has never provided any medical evidence about that (not that he has to, albeit to quiet his detractors).
Anyway, if you want to read about vitiligo and the plight of a genuine sufferer who eventually had to undergo depigmentation, there is this BBC Radio article (there\'s a link to the audio programme at the bottom of the page, it proves to be both enlightening and moving).

These sort of things happen a bit too often for my taste. I also get group invitations from perfect strangers.
The question I ask myself is not if I should kill them but if I should report them. Should I?

No. I don\'t enjoy looking inside people\'s mouth (and you\'ll recall that I can\'t remember there are 4 wisdom teeth). But I when I had to get my wisdom teeth removed, I read as much as I could about the subject. (So I could argue with the dentist or surgeon if I didn\'t like what they wanted to do)

Anyway, how many days has it been since your teeth were removed? The pain should be lessening by now.

@derwoodly: you got all 4 of them removed without painkillers?  8o

That\'s my state of mind. They didn\'t give me sleeping gas though because it\'s generally delivered through a mask that covers both the mouth and nose, so I had to have an injection. It isn\'t bad compared to 16 shots.

As I hear, that\'s called impacted teeth and it\'s quite common though the most severe cases are very rare.

Most people\'s jaws are generally too small to accommodate wisdom teeth. In the past, even young adults would generally have lost a few adult teeth very early because of poor dental care, so there was space for wisdom teeth.
The earlier one gets one\'s wisdom teeth removed the better (adolescence or early twenties at the latest) because severe complications can occur in adults. Impacted wisdom teeth are known to cause infections, cysts and (cancerous) tumours. Also, the earlier you remove them, the easier it is for the dentist or surgeon because the teeth roots haven\'t had time to strengthen.
Most orthodontists advise their patients to have their wisdom teeth removed very early because they tend to push the front teeth forward, which would ruin any straightening previously done. (And no one wants to wear braces for another 4 years when you thought you were finished with them).
There is some danger to having your teeth removed (infection, damage to bone or nerves) but it is outweighed by far by the dangers of adulthood complications.

Right. Sometimes I ask myself how much more dumb I can get, and it seems I\'ve reached the apex of stupidity.   lol
I\'ll try to put this on the fact that I was under the impression that general anaesthesia was required if you had all 4 removed at once. I hate and dread shots in the gums and what I can say to you (and I mean it) is: thumbs up! You were more courageous than I could ever be. *mutters to himself: \"16 shots... dear me...\"* *makes a small hiccup noise and faints*

Third tooth? You had three wisdom teeth? lol

Anyway, have you tried ice packs? They do help to numb the pain and also help with the puffy cheeks. The surgeon advised me to eat ice cream, it works well too.

I had my wisdom teeth removed after they appeared on the x-ray I had when I got my orthodontic braces removed. I was under general anaesthesia (US anesthesia), so no shots in the gums :) . The surgeon had to cut some of the jaw bone. Anyway, had to live only on mashed vegetables and ice cream for about a week. Also, had to gargle with mouthwash but it didn\'t sting.
It hurts, that\'s life. (It\'s so easy to say now)
I wish you a speedy recovery. :)
