Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / BitTorrent Downloader Taking DAYS?!

I just started downloading the game . Im running a 1GB RAM , LAN computer in tip top shape . Should it be taking this long? Is there any other way i can get this besides BitTorrent? It currently estimates 4 days . Will it decrease?
