Sites a bit slow at times, but it\'s damn fun looking back to February 2001 and seeing how much it\'s progressed since then.

Hramrach, you DO realise that you just revived a topic that\'s been dead for over a year, right?

Personally, I\'d say increasing the distance between each loading segment would be fine.
Yes, I realise that makes absolutely no sense.
What I mean is: Right now, taking a step back causes you to re-enter the old area, so some leg-room would be nice.

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game /

Well, the reason I use GetRight is because I\'m doomed to 56k and downloading something as big as planeshift would take at least 12 hours (amazingly enough, I didn\'t get disconnected once during that time).

Download GetRight (http://www.getright.com) or another download mmanager, and copy and paste one of the mirrors (NOT the torrent) into GetRight\'s download URL thingamajig.

1:
Check the PlaneShift Setup to see if software is selected for Sound Options.
It it isn\'t, change it to software.

2:
If software don\'t work, you could try OpenAL.
Set the sound renderer to OpenAL and download the dll here:
http://www.dll-downloads.com/dll_commonlyrequested.asp
Scroll down to OpenAL32.dll
Unzip the file to the PlaneShift directory.

3:
If OpenAL fails you, you could try Directsound as a last resort.
This actually seems more reliable on my PC and it makes levels load faster than the other renderers.
All music besides combat, however, is disabled.

PvP,PK and Thieving /

I used to play a game called The Realm (and by used to I mean back in 1999).
They had a nice system for both PKing and Theiving.
Normally, you could turn PK on or off whenever you wanted, but if you tried to steal something from someone, PK for you would be on for a month.

It worked rather well, though a month would probably be way too much for PlaneShift.

I sent my application to info@planeshift.it, since that\'s the e-mail the music/sound leader link lead to.
Is this where I\'m supposed to send it, or is there a different e-mail adress I have to use?
