Well, first you need to click .

The e-mail can take up to a day to come. Check your spam folder. Check the e-mail address. Then, if you still don't get it, email acraig at acraig@planeshift.it and hope it gets fixed. :-\

Wait! I got something very very simalar when I updated. I don't remember the number, but the error comes as soon as you open planeshift right? When the game is loading on that splash screen with the tower and dragon-thingy and blah.

Try deleting ALL your DLLs in the planeshift folder.
Download updater version 1.1.1.1 from http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=23024.0 . Do it anyway, even if you seem to have 1.1.1.1 already.
Now unzip the zip file you downloaded into the PS folder. Run the updater. It will throw an error but ignore it. Run the update. When done, run the updater again. If it updates any more files, delete those and run the updater yet again. Run pssetup.exe and make sure everything is the way you want it. Then try launching Planeshift again.

Yeh you could try just re-installing windows, that often fixes everything :| Including viruses; besides, viruses often do lasting damage to your system.. reinstalling might be the better option.

Yeah I tried this thing, there's no window but it just says "Tracing route to gandalf.fragnetics.com [210.193.49.103]" and you can see it "hopping"  :whistling: .
Omg 12 hops for me.. one timed out

I have the same problem, and I tried that xml file. Here are the last few lines..
It looks like the Skills Window widget is missing?

Pah! Us Guild Knights don\'t really care about spies, and we have nothing to hide.. What sort of damage can a few spies do to the power and might of the Guild Knights?! :))

Or any other good guild for that matter.. I mean, sure it makes you uneasy and angry, but lets face it, WHO CARES?! :D What sensitive info can spies reveal to their guild that could hurt.. Guilds aren\'t complex enough (Well.. not enough tools thats one) to have secrets yet, and theres nothing inside that can really damage things when it gets out yet..

Actually we are aware of spies in our guild, and we do know who a few of them are. But we don\'t kick them out or anything, cause they don\'t do any harm (so far).

Oh and btw tCoY is The Community of Vaalnor. Come on now.. :P

If there is ranks this is because this is easier to implement the skills from them. This is also easier to read your competence. Experience is experience. Experience is not steps, its a SLOPE.
And systems who use ranks/levels use variables with experience too, otherwise how would you know what rank/level you have? I just want to take out the level conversion and only use experience.
ARRGH is this so hard to understand?! X( just cause this is the first time something like this has been thought of..

Oh come ON! :P You thing this is an \"improvement\"?! A totally new skill concept that has never before been conceived is an improvement.
The ONLY thing that is the same as the last one is the concept of practical/theoretical practice and trainers.. and without the trainers it would be a crap system and the practical/theoretical is just a good idea..

I do agree with everything here, and it would definitely be cool to have those \"random\" fractual trees so you can actually walk in the forests..

And while we\'re at it, it would be cool in maps were all square and \"portals\" would be vertical planes, not lines. So we could walk anywhere and not fall off the world. We\'d need that to bring actual forests to their full potential, as well as plains and stuff.. :D

Here  is a good thread on why the current skill system is bad.

And I\'d like to disagree on your word \"improvements\". Like Baurak said, this is more a total revamp.

Gosh, my main point is the hardest-to understand point is seems :/
In this system, \"steps\", otherwise known as levels or ranks, do NOT exist. Experience alone is used.

The concept of \"1000 exp is lvl 1, 3000 exp is lvl 2\" is how ALL games these ways work. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I plan to change that on Planeshift by completely removing levels and only usend the exp part.

And autodidacts are people who learn things themselves right? Everybody is one. I mean, if you killed 2000 rats, do you not think you would become a LITTLE better? Without doubt, you will learn better, quicker ways of killing em by accident or on an impulse now and then.

And I say again, even in this system, if you do not use trainers at ALL, it will take like 20 times as long as you to reach, say, 10000 exp than someone else who uses trainers now and then. So you can do it, but it\'s not very smart. :rolleyes:

On the other hand, you can really screw over your character in the long way if you don\'t know how it works.. My freind has a whole bunch of levels in painting and music :P

Yeah I discovred this bug.. was reall funny to say \"EVERYBODY type \'/pet attack\'!!!!\" and they all crash.. shouldve reported though

I like it! It has a sort of charm.. and poly\'s aren\'t too high either.

Only thing is the blade looks thick and that makes the overall weapon look \"heavy\". But other than that :D

Daggers should be light and very quick, that\'s what they\'re for so
