sort of a \"star wars galaxies\" idea

me like, we should borrow a good bit form that game, it was built really well for RP\'ers

music really shouldn\'t be THAT hard to change from place to place, but having players playing music would end in chaos

wookies dancing in the street...everywhere....make the wookies stop...STOOOP!!!

Public Works Projects

community build (but not necessarily designed) monuments, civic budings, roads, towers, guild houses using a system of everyone workig together for a common goal.

seemed to be well accepted, that makes me a happy person

In the interest of societal RPing and a bit of realism.  What if there were projects that would require the whole community to pitch in and help.

There could be a huge monument to build, requiring materials from the miners, craftmanship from the craftsmen, and art from the artisans.

or as a sort of \"working for your updates\" thing you could have the people build something in order to get new features.
For example, before a new area is released people would need to dig a tunnel through the mountain/build a road, clear an area of enemies, and build some watch towers (or other buildings like shops and blacksmiths).
And when player owned houses are about to be released a \"municipal center of property deveopment\" would be commissioned.

I think it would be cool to have goals to achieve and progress to be made

just a thought, why not try an alignment system like no other

innovate a new alignment scale rather than the ancient good/evil system

order/chaos
philosophy of one/many/others (links in with the character creation life events)
open palm/closed fist (well, maybe not that one)
there are infinite possibilities

know what I mean?  I would be a order/ philosophy of many / open palm

good/evil is too disputable

exactly what is a .cfg file?

on my comp it is displayed as a \"battlefield 1942\" file, and I can\'t imagine that means anything good for me.

just a thought, but if you used level taly\'s as an age reference you would-

1- not have people dying of old age because (I assume) it gets harder to level once you reach the higher levels, and because once you reach the top age group you could just stay that way

2- reflect the experience and skill of the CHARACTER, not the ammount of time spent in game.

3- Differenciate newbies from devs/mods/knolegable people.  If a guy comes up to you with gray-ing hair and a long beard, you know that he has exp and can answer your questions (unlike, say, a bunch of children killing rats in the sewers).

4- set up a subconcious awareness of the superiority of more skilled players (in an RP sense).  Adults (vets) will teach the children (newbies), who in return honor and revere them (or listen to rock music and crash the family car).  and when the old mage in the crooked blue hat walks into town, everyone knows it\'s someone who is filled with wisdom and knowledge.

you could also give the person a choice to age past adult or not (most people would rather look manly and buff than like a wise old sage)

sorry if Im treading over previously mentioned ideas.  I hate zombie threads as much as the rest of us, but I believe this idea has more merit than it has been acreditted with.
