Now this peaks my interest..why  would a high level dev need to put a spy in COL..makes me wonder what they were afraid of to even warrant a real dev\'s interest into putting a spy into here. Now THIS is fun.

You know where to find us:) especially me. We are around just not here anymore. And thank you the honor has been hours./me bows

To Induane your point is taken and as we have been here to try the biggest problem is that we have tried to change it but certain people are set in their ways to just ignore it.And with that this game has not been fun anymore..just plain aggravating. We want to go somewhere fun not get aggravated everytime some new rule is implemeted or in the latest, names being changed yet again because it doesnt fit someones idea of roleplay. The biggest issue is that we are being told how to play and we dont like it..we would like to play by how WE feel the characters are supposed to ..not someone elses opinion. So we choose to move on to a place that may let us play as we intended to when we started.

Guilds Forum / Moving On
« on: June 15, 2005, 08:44:35 pm »
Due to the fact that the PS GM system is totally nerfed and we have had just about enough of the powertrips and the newbs giving us crap and changing our names COL has decided to leave Planeshift to its destruction from a bad community. We are searching for another game.COL will no longer put up with the newb Dev dictatorship and will be moving on to something better when discovered.COL will no longer accept applications regarding Planeshift membership. The website will now go under construction (when we have time) to include ALL games COL is currently active in.We have been faithful to this development for 2.5 years and are sorry to see such a bad turn. But we cannot tolerate this anymore and it does nothing but aggravate instead of letting us have fun and a little freedom.

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Worked for me
« on: March 29, 2005, 06:59:16 pm »
You have to X it out not exit the updater..leave the black dos window and the retry/cancel window open.X out the other dos window(if running in --auto mode) or X out the actual GUI updater then hit retry.BTW to do this you need to run the updater in windowed mode not full screen to get the X.

You can also try this:
Download from http://circleoflegends.dotgeek.org/updater.zip and save disk.Open your PS folder and delete updater.exe.
Extract the zip to the same spot you just deleted and overwrite your files. It should work normally from the start menu PSUpdater.

EDIT: Sorry I keep forgetting not everyone knows zip files are for windows only in general..this \"fix\" is for Windows PS problems.

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / Guild War/Test End
« on: January 30, 2005, 01:44:10 pm »
Ok with big thanks to the Core for aiding us in this test and and playing with honor and fairness.Yesterday we had an all out war with at least 10 people from each guild. And in conclusion we found out this.We are very happy with how the  system works.Good Job to the Developers that made it.But we do have one more suggestion. Both guild\'s members reported a problem with one area , Hydlaa, as they all found it irritating to be training only to be attacked from behind while training skills. We would like to suggest that if there is any way to do it that Hydlaa should be made a \"no PK\" zone so that people can skill in peace if they don\'t feel like playing in the war.We figured every other place has Mobs in it but that city and it seems reasonable that anywhere that has mobs, like sewers, arena, Laanx Dungeon,Ojaveda and the entire area outside Hydlaa would be fair game for the war.Inside the city has none and we feel that guild battles also should not be allowed inside for the reason stated above.
So we conclude our test with very good results and only a few problems.

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / Guild wars
« on: January 29, 2005, 12:02:13 am »
OK I finally found a guild that will help me test the guildwars option. Thanks to The Core we have begun a friendly guild war to see what it is bugged or lacking. Here is the list of what we have found so far.
1)There isn\'t a way to tell who your enemies are and some suggestions are that the enemies name is a different color or there is an \"enemy guild\" window put in the guild options window. For now we can use the guilds MOTD for a heads up.
2) None of the Zonechanges or Spawn points have a guard of any sort so spawn camping is a problem we foresee.Suggest a timed Zone buffer to allow escape.
3) We started this test with a bogus guild we made.Possible exploit is a guild can make a bogus guild and have it yield many times to gain the Karma points.Suggest a guild have a time limit before being able to start a guildwar like the guild needs to be 2 weeks old or something. Also if implemented as I have heard planned is the possibility of personal Karma points per kill made.We also see the same exploit of dummy characters made or guild jumpers to try and gain Karma.Suggest that the member be at least a week old in the guild.
4) After Linkdead server doesn\'t remember the war.Crashes are fine as all it is is a disconnect but server wide crash loses war information.

More to come and I hope this helps the Devs.

Ok this is getting out of hand.First with the name changes that didn\'t fit into the \"setting\".Now trying to make people speak proper English and removing any slang, abreviations and so forth. If you all really want to get technical,NONE of these rules apply. There was no such thing as medieval Europe,Old America or anything. The medieval language, setting and doesn\'t apply here. This is Yliakum. And I am REALLY getting tired of people trying to change, censor and everyhting else to fit a certain \"idea\" of how a game should be played. This dictatorial action that has been showing up is really starting to get out of hand.Who are you people to tell me how i should or should not act in a game? If i feel like saying slang or shortening to abbreviations its my call to do so,and i\'ll be damned if I am forced to have to change my patterns for someone elses idea of roleplay. If i feel like adding my own personal nuances to my character then i should have the freedom to do so.Don\'t tell me i have to change dialogue or act a certain way to fit your ideals.I will play as i see fit and as long as it isn\'t offensive, derogatory or any other reason the chat filters were made then let me play as i feel fit.If you want to eliminate ways that people talk then make it in your client. It isnt fair to have the developers make this type of thing and force people to use it because you don\'t like to read it.Fix it yourself.Oh and while we are at it since there isn\'t such as thing as Medieval England in our setting why don\'t we just lose the English completely and have the Developers  make  a complete language for us all to learn so we can be the same.

The guild is international so to make it run 24/7 we set up a government structure that allow 4 people to run the guild.West are people in North America,South America basically GMT-2 to GMT-12.East is the other way. It is our way of keeping track of who is from what area so that members know  where to look for guidance. An asian player sure cant get it from me if I am sleeping :)

Next time you want to complain about having to wait for a day and a half for something to work, usually a simple problem that exists, try asking one of the MANY people here that wait 1.5 to 3 YEARS for this buggy version and are extremely happy with it even with downtimes.Yes Waiting is Planeshifts middle name and most of us have been there through the worst times. This is nothing.I for one and still extremely happy with it.
