i got the new vfs.dll and my updater still dosent work......anyone got any ideas?

I just got this game 5 minutes ago and after the setup i chose yes to launch the updater it said it has to fetch the new updater so the new one was download and then it says checking for updates this may take awhile...then it just stay there and i left my computer there for 45 minutes and nothing happened please help
