What about submitting it to bugzilla?

Linux Specific Issues / Re: gentoo ebuilds

Am I mistaken, or is this problem only temporary until Planeshift uses the new version? And if not, why shouldn't Planeshift just depend on a particular version? Like:
Code: [Select]
RDEPEND="=dev-games/crystalspace-0.98.4" and so on.
In the end Planeshift will either need to make it's own version of cs, or use the official versions which is possible now with the 1.0 release of cs, otherwise (continue to depend on cvs revisons) ps will never be able to be usable in linux distributions.

Loux: Did you think about putting the ebuild in an online overlay instead of a portage.tar.bz2? I think it is not that hard, and there are pages that would even host it for you. The official gentoo overlay page (yes, they host projects too): http://overlays.gentoo.org/
Or you may as well use a user overlay, the most well known is surely http://www.gentoo-sunrise.org/sunrise (well I would use sunrise instead of creating an own one...)
That would make installation and update much much more easy to do, with layman. In fact just as easy as the official portage tree itself.

so they are just 3 or 4 people using gentoo,
too bad :)
Well, not really, I just don't like fiddeling around. I just installed it with wine  :o. And it works :woot:. A nice online repo to use with layman would be cool.

Hey Xordan,
any plans on when the new source tarballs will be released? This would finally allow a gentoo ebuild for Planeshift (the new version). That would be great.
Thanks,

Linux Specific Issues / Re: Gentoo portage overlay for PlaneShift

Quote from: hook
It seems that, since there's not much chance that PlaneShift will get into the official portage tree (due to CVS and SVN depenancies)
Not true, just read this: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76260
The last four messages should say it all.
Now there exists a tarball and there will soon be an up-to-date ebuild in portage, just give them some time.

I am on Gentoo, too. The problem with building Planeshift ourselves is that there is no tarball. If someone could release a tarball for each release for CEL, Crystal Space and Planeshift, a lot of people would build it themselves. Especially when there is an ebuild for that.

Mohij
