Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Updates problem!

i just downloaded planeshift, i tryed to do update search, and suddently it says that there is an error and it asks me if i wanna send an report to windows, then it closes down. ive waited like 2 hours and tryed again, didnt work. why?
